For my package, swap Endurance for Perception. This is to improve Yuhe Finger's odds of landing. The endurance boost is somewhat unnecessary between neigong upgrade and leeching. Overuse damage will be reduced from the improved control a higher skill provides anyway. If we can land Yuhe Finger, we won't need to worry about enemy defenses so much, to echo a previous post:

Also, we saw what the Grand Taoist did to Ahura by injecting chaotic qi. It's a technique worth learning.

Dude, it was Esquilax who suddenly turned everything into 24 month packages. I was trying to avoid making new packages by sticking with the modular options already entered on the list. Suddenly there's an option out there with my name on it which doesn't even properly reflect my preferences.

Don't ask me why you guys keep changing the voting format and options. Shit gets adjusted when you do that.

Treave, if it were me I might've said "Everyone make packages now. You have 24 hours." then after those 24 hours, I would have people vote on all the options for 24 hours and cull the lowest ones for the next round of voting. Do it again maybe two more times. On the fifth day if there isn't a decisive winner yet, it gets decided now.

Alternatively, I may have said: Go discuss yourselves crazy, in 48 hours I will be back, read all the discuss and assemble a package I think most appropriately reflects the discuss as the winner. Enjoy.

Lastly, I might've done what you just did. List all the various options out there and said "you guys figure it out" and then I would grab popcorn and not do anything CYOA-related for a week or two, except eat popcorn.

 

I can't change my package to gold colour or blue colour or whatever rainbow colour you guys will debate over. My package choice remains red or salmon colour.

I'm assuming that majority have decided on 24 months. Dear God, please don't flip—flop debate on that too.

So whoever it is, just pick whatever package that has already been offered and thought out.

If anyone does not agree with 1 part or 2 part or 3 part or whatever number part, then come up with your own package. And whoever that did a great job summarising the packages and what they had in common and advantages can do it again if they want to.

I could be swayed to a Yuhe Finger + PER build, honestly. Just really don't like that Yuchang sword option. All right, let me try drawing up some modules.

Unarmed Mastery Build (8 months)
14. Intensive hand-to-hand combat sessions with Zhang Jue. (Unarmed +1, 6 months)
19. Improve your understanding of the Shouwang Mad Claws technique. (2 months)

Kenjutsu Build (6 months)
3. Intensive basic saber training. (Saber +4, 1 month)
13. Intensive sword training with Zhang Jue (Sword +1, 2 months)
15. Learn the rare Minamoto-style Kenjutsu focusing on quick draws and flowing attacks from Yorimitsu. (+1 Sword, 3 months)

Seems incredibly redundant, but hey, people seem to want the extra technique, so.

Duel-Wielding Trickster Add On
8. ‘Practice’ sleight-of-hand with Qilin... (Sleight-of-Hand +1, 1 month)
Silk applications aside, might be useful if you think you'll be switching between weapons a lot, and if you want to get tricksier in fights.

Naked Running Man Add-On
27. Focus on qinggong practice by running around the island with the tigers, naked. (Qinggong +2, 6 months, Kuanglang Step now gives +2 to agility and increased ability to shrug off grabs)
Seems to have lost favour over the pages, but if you want the glass cannon to become even more glass cannon-y, this is for you.

This should summarize the main points that people are gunning for? So maybe we could vote on a main build combo and then once that's done vote on the add-ons. And I can add/modify builds/modules if people want.

It might be easier to just vote for predetermined packages though.

 

That's more effort than you think. It sounds like a decent idea but options have different costs allocated to them, which makes weighing all the votes a bitch.

As for Yuchang Sword, what do you dislike about it? It's one of the Ten Great Swords so making a style based on using our best sword seems like a good idea to me.

It just seems like a huge waste to teach ourselves when we have access to teachers. We can leave the indie tech development for when we invariably get thrown into jail or an underground cavern or something of the sort again.

 

We might lose it, as we already had in a parrallel universe.

It might get stolen from us. We might get captured.

 

We might lose the Wodao too.

 

But not the kenjutsu style.

 

That's why I go with Unarmed. If we lose our hands, we're fucked either way. Though we still have our feet and they count as unarmed.

 

Sure, but the same goes for our self-taught sword style.
