I understand your point of view, but I do not see this the same way. Erdrick won't save the "passive" slimes just because he's a nice guy, but because he wants to relocate a few (or most of them, if possible) to Grahferde. Saving the Queen Slime's life will make her more willing to cooperate (unlike Kek, who's already serving someone else), doubly so if she learns of the incoming Methuss' squads coming here. Moreover, since Kek and his boss don't know much about us yet (other than Mercant is not human), we could pretend to be the Angel from Methuss™ in order to put the blame on their kingdom, preparing a fun surprise for them when their retaliatory army arrives. That should allow us to weaken both forces with minimal effort, as Erd loves to do.

Besides, while I don't doubt these black slimes are way stronger than the average variety, they have been tampered with to prevent these from being captured, a fact which will most likely apply too when these slimes die and they self-destruct. Even though that makes them excellent shock troopers, at the same time they will be poor test-subjects, for not to mention Erdrick won't like putting his squishy bits inside an highly explosive jelly, especially if said slime identifies himself as a male. Don't you think so?

By now it can be safely assumed that slimes ARE sentient. They probably have some degree of autonomy when they're away from their Lord/Lady, but they get stronger and create a hive-mind when several ones merge (chances are this process can be reversed as well). Of course, that also means that killing or severely wounding the Slime Lord will deal a fatal blow to most, if not all of nearby slimes, which means that attacking both Lords is probably not really a good idea after all, so I'll modify my vote to just A for the moment. Lastly, remember that one pink slime attacked of the rookie trainees on its own, so the multicolored species are not completely harmless, peace-loving hippies.


PS: By the way, considering that both Slime Lords are aware that Erdrick is inhuman, could we take this chance to remove his cloak and flash show off his majestic "angelic features"? Combining that with his high charisma should be enough to intimidate them into submission, making this situation the first and last time Angelic Diplomacy is done. Unfortunately, knowing our luck, chances are they won't be impressed, crushing Mercant's ego even further.

PPS: Our companions sure level up very fast. I bet that's because they're considered monster-blooded (Aria most likely has a demonic ancestor somewhere within her bloodline, a fact which will both greatly interest and repulse Rin).

 

C is about us being the only one designated to violence either side into some pain. If we take a side, we are not controlling what a sovereign slime queen does with invaders or what the blacks will do with the conquered. Unless we decide to apply more violence at that point, I guess, but then that's time for the first defeated to slink away and it's clear that we can't just freeze the black slime and have that sit.

Taking option C ensures that we're willing to kick both sides in the metaphorical teeth until they submit and don't harm each other, which will preserve the greatest diversity of slimes.

 

I am not really happy with any of the choices.

I would really like to demand the multicoloured slimes' utter loyalty in exchange for protecting them from the black slimes. I would also like to capture the Black Slime Lord and interrogate it about the Dark Lord. We already know it cannot be done by freezing, but how about a force cage?

 

This is a tough decision. Feel free to add any ideas to the pro/con list.

Pro Multi-kult slimes:
1) Likely to be pliable and do anything we say
2) DIVERSITY! (more for Zayan to experiment with)
3) Defaulted to female form

Con Multi-kult:
1) Timid

Pro Big Black Dicks Slimes:
1) Aggressive
2) Possible reward and/or ally in this Dark Lord

Con Black:
1) Less likely to provide insights on our kundishun
2) May be difficult to keep in line
3) Defaulted to male form

I'm leaning towards A or C for now. Ideally we could subjugate both, but would C really play out that way?

Voting for C is the Angels gonna Angel most likely because attacking both doesn't make sense, the pink lady already submitted so what's the point?

 

That we ensure that the blacks aren't destroyed as would be probable in A? It says that we establish a monopoly of violence for a reason.

 

One of the few reasonable reasons for voting C would be to ensure that the Slime Queen doesn't attempt to betray us and attack Erd from behind the moment he's distracted, dragging him inside her body to absorb and digest all of his bodily fluids. But then again I'm sure part of the Codex would be okay with that outcome.

 

Fuck them all, I say. We are only true lord... but if we MUST choose one in tie... Slime Queen.

Well, I guess that I'd rather have a slime that identifies as female.

Besides this, we don't know who or what this slime lord is. While there is a good chance it could be slime that is willing to be a female for us, there is also a chance it will be a male one that wants to stick a tentacle up our backside - or worse yet: a male human Mage that is controlling the slimed.

need to keep in mind that the slime lord is just a collection of slime that is shaped like a human and talking to us, it's not an individual separate from the rest. presumably it could just grow a mouth or whatever on any ball of goo and talk through it.

I was considering going with C, but that's sure to unite both slime armies against us on their own turf. Not smart. If we had someone powerful with us, like Rin, I'd be willing to roll the dice and take on both leaders with the aim of subjugating all of slime-kind, but it is a terrible gamble in our position.

Technically they can both present as whichever sex they want, so really, we're just deciding which tranny we'd like to fuck the most.

While this makes sense, I wonder why the queen referred to the 'main body' and made us walk all the way to meet her before talking to us, even though she initially suspected that our goal is to get to her.

I suspect the 'commanding body' is unique enough. The hive might be able to reform it with time, but it can not happen 'at will'.

He needs more nigga-speak to become a viable option.

You know, since this game seems to run on high-fantasy and parodying anime tropes, I propose the following to see if Kek is really worth any trouble:

First, ask why the Dark UnderLord of his is so interested in this forest in the attempt to cause him to reveal more info about this new entity. Second, regardless of what happens, mention that if he's so interested in this territory, then he should know that fighting here wouldn't be a good idea due the risk of accidentally destroying our surroundings during the following battle.

If he agrees and follows us to a clearer space in order to be able to fight without reservations, then he's a honorable foe... Which means he's also foolish. Erd should take advantage of this weakness to catch him off-guard.
If he pretends to agree and he tries to attack us when we least expect it, then he's a smart foe... Which means he's not trustworthy at all and therefore not worth listening to his preposition, since he was probably not going to keep his word.
If he doesn't listen and simply attacks right here and now, then he's too impatient and/or too dumb to be of any use for us.
It's a win-win situation regardless of the outcome.

Lastly, assuming both Lucy and Aria are here, Erd could give the latter his metal sword he has stored in his inventory, then enchant it with Gygadine. That should allow her to give us minimal assistance.

 

Kek has shown himself both dumb and arrogant. Normally when you meet an uncertain factor you want to find out more about them.

He only knows that we kicked his ass before, yet he still promised to crush us personally if we oppose him. I don't think this is a threat he can follow through.

He is an enforcer, a muscle. I suppose he is good for what he is.
