    hmmm...
    Lets see...

    I think that asking him about us is bit wee too suspicious.
    Call it of insticnt of one that has just enjoyded good old whiskey kolme lions ( kolme leijonaa finnish ) vol 40 % and 35 cl, but it just sounds too suspicious and straight foward.

    Here we have a kid who couldn't figure out what to do with pair of womanly fulfilling of breasts, even if they sang or lectured him about it.
    I am sorry, but it's so strange that one person that tries to shy from conflict tries to be rather straight foward with his investigations.l

    I say NAY

    I say let us figure this out as round about way as possible.
    I say figure this after every embrassing incident and hilarious misunderstood situations, let Mori and our connection remain suspicious and tense.
    After all why did we meet only big burly man in security room in whole damn hosbital?
    I say our object of love is not Uehara or any of women...But our pure homo love for big trenchcoat guy.
    Indeed it's will of heaven that we end up with no woman, but manly and mysterious big older guy.

    He was one of the five who knew the keys to the locks on the 4th and 5th floors were in the security office.

    The schoolchildren and the Doc are too distressed and too concentrated on finding the missing person to remember that, but Mori remained calm and collected this whole time. I had a strong feeling we would be meeting him here, so I find nothing strange about it.

    Oh goody stuck in a room with the last person I wanted to see, scary Mori, who is already naturally suspicious of me.

    Since we're already in this predicament, let's not choose to be cowardly and take the bull by its horns and make the best of it. Maybe he'll like Shinoseki's bravery and straight-shooting for a change and be less suspicious of Shinoseki.

    And yeah, probably A1. I don't see any reason to shy from this issue, and we need more clues about our identity.

    But this is search & rescue operation.
    Searching trought security tapes is like beginners course in investagition.

    I mean it makes sense that mori is there, but there must have been some sort of communication that rest of us search the rest of rooms personally.
    Otherwise some of them might have same idea to get clues from security tapes.

    I understandt that the doctor might have good idea where the nurse went and highschoolers were too excited to think clearly, but the rest?
    I say it was a fate for us to meet there
    :troll:

    Or there was good old possesion thing going around here...

    The rest - if we are talking the group that was here half an hour ago - might have seen the powered down computers in the room and thought that they would be of no use. If we are talking the third group, I doubt that a narcissist pop-star, a crazy psychic and a twelve year old girl are best candidates to come up with a coherent plan on how to conduct the investigation.

    Actually I am kinda interested in who would we meet if we went to a different place. I have a feeling we would find Sakimura in the toilet, and the Doc would be searching somewhere on the first level (the kitchen?). Amanozaki would probably refrain from the search and would be sitting near the staircase.

    But where would the others go?

    True, but there is that CEO Software guy.
    Maybe he is just regular business guy, who doesn't understand a thing about computers and maybe we got lucky that our guy with no memories managed to start up computers, but I am bit doubful that we are better than him with computer.
    Maybe we had beginners luck, secret skills with computers or that CEO guy knows more about the nurse that he lets on.

    As for rest..

    Sakimura seems to be man of action combined with love sick puppie, so maybe with Uehara or kitchen or maintance room.
    Those seem to be best places for young man to start searching...Or maybe the toilet?

    Togiwava....I guess he would start with logical places and went to toilets to check in, if the nurse went to relieve herself.....And then went with combination and gut feeling based on knowledge of person and most likely places...

    As for Uehara....Perhaps she started with male showers and toilets...Or maybe went to kitchen to grap some food..

    As for rest, I have no idea and I strongly doubt that my guesses about our group are accurate at all..

    A2 for my vote. I think fishing for information a little more obliquely will be better. My wife and I did the math and we get 1153 for the code. Can I get a confirm on that?

    It's the power of amnesiacs. Everyone knows these guys come up with skills out of the blue whenever it is convenient for the story. All it takes is to update your journal regularly, and you are set.

    I don't get the rules of the puzzle. When the 1599th villager kills the 1600th, is he supposed to give the dagger to the 1597th? Or back to the chief (the 1st).

    We did it that the dagger wraps around back to the chief as the puzzle specifically says to hand the knife "to the one after" and not to the one closest in number. Our solution to the puzzle comes from this:

    Cullings look like this: 800; 400; 200; 100; 50; 25; 13; 6; 3; 2; 1

    The chief is number one at the start so we get 1. There will be 11 cullings to get down to one remaining villager so add 2^10 . We keep the chief alive as the first number in the line until we have a halving with a non whole number. On the eight culling the chief is killed due to the halving killing 7 out of 13 remaining villagers and this adds 2^7 as this is the starting number for the remaining villagers.

    The formula for the final number is 1 + 2^(11-1) + 2^(8-1) =1153.

    Brute forced it in excel and got the same answer.

    If our hero was so technically inclined, he might have tried this silly but entertaining solution:

    Code:
    #!/usr/bin/env python

    villagers = range(1,16001) #Instantiate our village
    i = 1 #The next index to execute
    kc = 1 #Record the current kill count
    while len(villagers) != 1: #End when we run out of villagers
        a = villagers.pop(i) #Kill villager at index i
        if a == 1153: #Test to see if archaen's villager has died
            print "1153 was the %dth villager killed."%(kc)
        kc+=1 #Increment kill count
        i=(i+1)%len(villagers) #Hand the knife to the next villager
    print villagers #Print the survivor

    Which produces:

    Code:
    1153 was the 15880th villager killed.
    [15617]

    1153 almost survives in my simulation, but not quite. One of us has made an error, and it's late so it may well have been me.

    Edit: Clearly it was me. I made a village with 16000 villagers. :oops:
