Re: powers. I find myself leaning more towards Tigranes' points. There is no style without a counter, so talking about it is counter-productive (no pun intended). If there are Astras that would hinder our concealment, it would just make us adapt and change our style towards "avoid this one dude", or "take out their detection", or "find a decoy" or something else, and would be dealt with on a case-by-case basis.

Even common Astras are sufficiently rare so we shouldn't base an argument around it. And if someone wants to harm us specifically, they will equip themselves accordingly no matter what we pick.

It is a playstyle choice, and hello friend makes some great points about it. Coming uninvited and leaving unnoticed has a certain charm to it. I definitely enjoyed Jing's sneaky breeky trolling antics more than direct confrontations. But that was done, and I want to try something else.

I wouldn't even call it "shitty options"? It's just the options people naturally want to take. If they don't mesh well with a certain build and powerset, well... that's one more angle to consider.

I would not choose something ill-fitting purely out of spite or stubborness, so I would adapt my decision-making to the toolset we end up with, but I'd rather not face the contradiction between what I want and what I have in the first place.

Well.. obviously it isn't the tome. But I was referring to Life of the Party's assumption that we are unlocking an Astra (if I interpreted his reason correctly), and I pointed out that it may be not be the case, since the only other Astra we have does not seem to be functioning.

Who knows how LSD-induced dreams work. Maybe we are getting enlightened about our inner inclinations?

Would we always have the pendant with us in a dream? Or is it because we thought of Rain that we reached for it? Dream logic is weird at the best of times.

Whatever, not really any shilling that can be done. I say we vote C since I think it'd be a cooler play style than B, and it meshes better with us being a Hunter. Baltika9 You were up for going with A because you wanted to stay through to the hunter theme, and hunt down our enemies and prey. But a hunter doesn't charge the bear in the woods with a spear, he stays back and stalks his prey for days and sometimes even weeks, waiting for the perfect opportunity before closing the trap he's set up and ending its life.

Regardless, I won't be too mad about B either. I originally was in favor of B before flopping, so it's not like I don't get the appeal. As long as it's not A I'm fine.

It's used to refer to attempting negotiations with a power that is not inclined to such actions, either due to having incomprehensible motives, or being so powerful that it can straight out bypass talks. Which was why the latest diplomatic fiasco with John Bull drew unfavorable comparisons.

The PRAY votes are memetic because they often seem like attempts to engage in diplomacy with gods, powerful entities we understand very little about.

By all means? We are in a deadlock, and no one seems to be swaying to the other side, so an extra vote would be welcome.
At this point I just want my next fix...

 

I'm not that good myself, so no big deal. I was having a bit of fun and created entertainment for everyone in the process, hopefully.
