Speaking of which, still waffling on earning my cuck tag and buying the WAR preorder. Don't really NEED to but since I've been having a good time and the Liliana walker looks like she might be fun to mess with (And is definitely a damn better pack-in than Tezzeret) I'm leaning toward it. I did end up shooting my gold wad on RNA packs though. There were still enough cards there I wanted that I caved, mostly worked out even though I got some trash rares too. And a few questionable mythics, not sure I'll get much use out of Dovin or a pair of angels of grace but you never know. Dovin would probably be better if I had some Karns to go for artifact memery at least, and angel of grace seems good even though it doesn't fit very neatly in any of my current decks.

I have 4x Judith in my pirates and it works JUST FINE

She is also 4X in my Mardu Heroes which works JUST FINE. Sometimes.

btw I have almost 4 complete sets of Ravnica Allegiance (about 40 packs away), but still 0 Priest of the Old Gods... Cthulhu does not favor me

 

I dunno if I'd say it actually WORKS but for Rakdos in general (As an extension of Judith) Gruesome Menagerie seems like a stealth MVP. 5 mana spell sounds questionable for an aggro deck, but it pulls a 1, 2, and 3 drop out of your graveyard and puts them into play, so you can get a footlight, a fireblade, and Judith after that goddamn esper player wraths you. Which is another reason menagerie is fairly decent with Rakdos, gives you a good variety of 1-2-3 mana dudes to bring back with it. Footlights, warboss dude, fireblades, reaper, etc etc etc. Shame it doesn't for for spectacle on spawn of mayhem. I would bet Jason's mardu hero deck is quite a bit better though, since hero gives you the benefit of shitting out a bunch of chumps without running particularly bad cards otherwise.

Also got preemptively cucked by Lukaszek since I haven't bought the preorder yet, but surely that'll be the kick in the ass I need to pull the trigger on it. I'm still lacking in dual lands though, missing 22 shocks and 29 checks. Admittedly I haven't crafted any yet, but still... Eh. Probably won't craft the checklands at least since they're rotating sooner but I likely will bite the bullet on at least some shocks. It's not so bad in dual color decks but if WAR makes me want to play grixis or, god help me, esper then I'll probably want 'em.

 

as for those 'featured' offers, 'meh' is overstatement. barely better than regular buying gems and packs out of them(newb explorer bundle included). Gems card pricing vs skins is a joke. Cards bundle in a AAA game price tag? Its still a beta ffs
But hey, if their analysts claim that such expensive line up gets them even then good luck to them. For reference Id buy some sort of discounted pack each month if it was 50% cheaper than their current bestest deal of the month offerings.

They probably won't go full-modern, but they already mentioned they're going to do "Standard+" when rotation hits and your cards will still be playable in there. So there could be neutered modern in Arena at least, but I don't know if I'll really play that much or just remain a standard baby. But since they've already got some sets that rotated out previously in Arena maybe they'll put those back in since they already got the cards working? Dunno.

Oh sure, I'm not trying to say the preorder's a great deal or anything, but it works out to the same price as buying a $100 stack of gems (In terms of cash for packs) and the Liliana walker I'd probably play with. I don't give a damn about the sleeve or the style, but a dollar a booster sounds tolerable and the bonus card is one I'd at least fuck around with. Quite a while back I remember mentioning (Can't remember if I brought it up or if Scruffy did) that I wouldn't mind if Arena had some monthly cheapo deal so there was a middle ground between whale and free to play, and if they keep doing these $50 preorder packs that might be it for me. $50 every 3-4 months? Maybe, even though as you mentioned it's not much of a discount at all. Though since the next set is Core 2020 I don't know if I'd be interested in buying that. The AAA price tag doesn't matter much since there isn't anything coming out all that soon that I'm looking forward to anyway as far as I know. Honestly I know it's kinda silly to throw money at it and the game's quite playable free to play anyway, but given I play the fucking thing daily and have fun toying around with making decks out of whatever cards I've got I'd get some fun out of it. I play gud gittin netdecks too but it's not like all my jank cards molder in the collection so cracking some packs is nice. And unlike a free MTG client it's ridiculously easy to find some matches at any hour unless WotC somehow drops the ball and fucks everything up.

And if I'm watching cuck porn but don't have a wife wouldn't that mean I identify as the cucker? The cuckista? The becuckener?

Money/fun ratio evaluation is a personal thing. If they wish to keep the price tag then they should finally get out of the beta and give me mobile client(beta)

 

God no. Think about how much the PC client shits itself performance-wise. Not only that, think about how fiddly it gets when you draw a ton of fucking cards even with a larger screen/higher resolution/better accuracy of a mouse. And of course I feel bad about it, I bitch about almost every game I buy. It's how I stop myself from completely going off the deep end.

Better yet, MTGA-VR. Hold your cards in one hand and then pick them and play them with the other, including manual tapping so you can watch your opponent slowly and awkwardly fumble around to make sure he doesn't tap his Azcanta!

 

Speaking of which, I'm fucking heartbroken I didn't save my "Closed beta alternate art planeswalkers" code. Used it immediately because what the hell why not, and now those fuckers sell for like $200-300 a pop.

Just spent 40k gold on RNA packs and I'm still around 70 packs off from a complete set of RNA jesus..

Probably like 100 packs of GRN away from completing that set and 300 for WAR since I haven't even started that

Duplicate protection helps a lot with this though especially when you're nearing completion

 

My six rares/mythics were Bolas, Teferi, Tamiyo, Vivien, Soul Diviner and Widespread Brutality, lol.

 

I want to die. And spoilers, I did. Domri's nice but I had a big ol' shitpile of non-rares and I only just barely managed to wring one victory out and never once drew Krenko. Kind of a shame. Didn't get anything super exciting from my packs either except for 3 Gideon Blackblades, which would be cooler if I ever played white weenie. I did get a copy of that mythic green sorcery which is nice. I then did a quick GRN draft since I wanted to get my welfare ranked limited pack at the end of the season and that went fairly well. Got 4 wins, raredrafted a shockland and another unmoored ego, all in all nice. Not sure what my first fuck around with WAR cards deck is going to be, didn't get enough of any one thing to push me in any direction, ended up with one of a lot of stuff. Still leaning heavily toward dumbass Jace self mill but Ral shenanigans or a Feather boros deck could be fun. I do have two Krenkos though, and I also wanted to try fucking around with him.

Edit: Wait, I'm retarded. Krenko would slot into rakdos pretty nicely. Works great with Judith, and since I like playing grim menagerie in rakdos and he's a 3 drop all the more reason to drag him along. Originally was thinking of using him in boros with that white RNA enchantment (Assuming the triggers work in the desired order) but he'd probably be better in Rakdos anyway. Though you're already kinda overloaded on 3 with Judith and warboss and all. And warboss is basically just strictly better. And... Fug.
