You sure you didn't leave out any â„¢'s there?

Pop quiz: The phrase "The Lord of the Rings" was used how many times?

    In your head, obviously
I haven't played any of these. Is it worthwhile to play an older one once I've played the newest incarnation, given EAs policy of re-releasing the same game over and over again?

The constant explosions and jumping ogres look stupid. I have the first game somewhere but I never bothered to play it. Looks like a cross between the shitty RTW-style tactical simulation and a dumbed down empire management game.

I was/am not impressed with the series. I played the first game for about two days and grew tired of its linearity.

According to word on da streetz, BfME2 improved on BfME1 substantially so probably not.

Watch the vid on their website. Looks like the Tolkien setting has become a big joke.

Having played the demo for Battle for Middle Earth 2, I'd say the whole series is forgetable. Maybe if your a big fan of the movie's "epicness" you might get some enjoyment out of watching giant armies kill each other, but the game was just to imbalanced and "akward" to control for me to like it.

Tolkien's setting became a joke many years ago.
