I'm looking for mech-themed single player games. I played a lot of them so this is probably futile, but maybe there are some old games that I missed, or some modern obscure games. Preferably something similar to Mechwarrior or Heavy Gear (games with some sim-like qualities and customization) but really anything will do including tactical games or arcade twitchfest shooters.
Games that I played:

Mechwarrior
Mech Commander
Earthsiege/Starsiege
Heavy Gear
Armored Core
G-Nome
Shattered Steel
Mission Force: Cyberstorm
Xenobots
Terra Nova: Strike Force Centauri (it has power armour instead of mechs, let's say these are honourary mechs)
Front Mission (tactical games)
Front Mission Evolved (it's shit btw)
S.L.A.I.

sort of relevant:
Zone of the Enders
Shogo
Gigantic Army
Slave Zero (I haven't played this one is it any good?)
Future Cop LAPD
Gun Metal
Krazy Ivan

barely relevant:
Omega Boost
Strike Suit Zero
(both p.cool games imo, but these are just space shooters with robots instead of spaceships)

I'm looking for PC, PS3 games or anything that can be emulated on the PC, but feel free to mention other platforms maybe someone will find that useful.

Hawken has a 4 players vs AI mode. It's an arena shooter with a mech skin. But at least it's better than Front Mission Evolved.

Armored Core is my favourite of the action mech games. I really enjoyed the mech commanders, I should try the cyberstorm games some time.

Miyazaki's work on For Answer is pretty much the zenith of mecha simulation as a genre. I assume you've gone through that and Verdict Day?

Anyway, you played One Must Fall 2097, the mech fighting game? It had some innovations to the fighting game genre (IIRC it's the first fighting game with stage hazards and second fighting game with finishing moves a'la Fatalities; and of course the Pilot/Mech variation), and it has one of the sweetest soundtracks ever:

Also, holy crap someone else who's played Future Cop LAPD!

Try looking into japanese games. They love them some bigass robots over there. Other than that, you already have all the games that spring to mind on your list.

Miyazaki's work on For Answer is pretty much the zenith of mecha simulation as a genre. I assume you've gone through that and Verdict Day?

Yeah I played the AC games. FA is my favourite, loved the fast paced combat. OMF2097 is a nice fighting game, I liked that tournament mode where you could upgrade your mech for money. The stage hazards were interesting, but it bothered me that the stages were so small (screen sized), would be better if they scrolled. And yeah, the music was sweet.

EDIT: just did a quick search on Titans of Steel - looks interesting.

Nut up and buy Steel Battalion and an old xbox. Together it shouldn't run you 150. Nothing has come close to simulating a Mech battle, including the shitty MW4 virtual reality pods straight out of 1991.

Hahahahaha. That's awesome. That game is japping as hard as it fucking can.

Anyway, a somewhat little known fact : The old Metaltech/Earthsiege games were made by FASA, the same company that put out Battletech and Mechwarrior. (As well as Shadowrun, Crimson Skies, and a few other worthy titles.) The Developer of those titles was Dynamix, known for The Incredible Machine, Betrayal at Krondor, *and* the ORIGINAL Mechwarrior game. The Metaltech series would go on to spawn Starsiege Tribes, perhaps the fastest FPS I've ever played and enjoyed.

Bonus : Go get Ultrabots.

It's in alpha, and they do promise single player content. However, it might be in the form of episodes that are released very rarely and haphazardly, and is only there because people were upset at the sole focus on e-sports.

Still, one can only wait and see how things turn out with Heavy Gear Assault.

I wonder why they focused on mp only. They have to compete with MWO and Hawken (well ok, HG Assault is not f2p...right?). I wonder how would their Kickstarter go if they wanted to make a "normal" game (sp/co-op campain+mp mode, like in the old days), there's a niche to fill.

I think it would have gone a lot better than it did if they hadn't uttered the poisonous phrase that they're focusing on e-sports.

CyberStrike, CyberStrike 2 and SCARAB.
Those were all made by basically the same team (David Whatley /John Ratcliff). The CyberStrike games concentrate on multiplayer, though, and there might well be a reason they are forgotten. Still, if you're interested in the genre, they might be worth a look as a curiosity.

Also, there was Metalizer. A significant part of that team would later form Piranha Bytes and make the first Gothic games.

Pathfinder: Wrath
Robot Alchemic Drive (RAD).

Action game where you control one of three mechs (a heavy one that can transform into a tank, a light one that can transform into a plane, or a balanced one that can't transform) and fight monsters in a city. It has some light RPG elements, letting you level up various aspects of the mechs, a choice of three protagonists, and even some light C&C (iirc, you can somehow drive the annoying 'girlfriend' character to commit suicide). The English voice acting is horrible, to the point where a lot of people figure it to be a parody of the bad voice overs in shit like the old Godzilla movies.

Runs fine on a PS1 emulator. That two player mode with bases and stuff was cool, does the pc version have the option to play it online?
