At most, the later games in the series acknowledge that something happened in San Hieronymo, it involved Big Boss, Miller, and possibly Campbell, and a direct consequence of it was FOX disbanding, Ocelot retrieving the second half of the legacy, and Big Boss joining The Patriots. If anything, Peace Walker's stubborn refusal to acknowledge the events of Portable Ops makes its story suffer pretty badly, as Big Boss has to go through a second round of getting over killing The Boss (though at least this one opts for a different, darker resolution than Portable Ops'), and and apparently has been stricken with amnesia of major events in his life that occurred in the past five years (Paz essentially recites his own history with The Patriots to him, and his only reaction is a confused 'Huh?').

At least the game canonically establishes that Big Boss can talk to cats and fought giant dinosaurs. And believes in Santa Claus.

Nah, MGS3 was Dracula and recharging batteries by eating mushrooms. Peace Walker was Santa.

That was my favourite love/hate thing about the game.

    "Snake, they have Metal Gear!"
    Snake: "Metal Gear!?"
Me: Dude, you're so retarded. How are you a super spy?

I remember on the subreddit when this got mentioned or something that this becomes sadly hilarious when you think of it this way:

Because Big Boss still believes in Santa Clause, he may very well believe himself to be on some form of permanent naughty list because he killed The Boss

I thought it was intentional that Snake and his descendants are autistic manchildren who happen to be geniuses at base infiltration. That's why he's on the battlefield all the time, because he wouldn't survive the real world without getting scammed by some nigerian prince.

After he figures out he's been scammed he goes to Nigeria to track this prince down, only to discover that Nigeria is a republic.

You think MGS5 will have a commercial like this come release?

^That was deep and contemplative. Truly another masterstroke of viral marketing from the great Kojima-san.

Game Informer Magazine puts the budget of Metal Gear Solid 4 around $60 million and MGS V at around 80 to 90. Wasn't some Call Of Duty budget estimated to be around $200 million because of huge PR? Might this be the actual budget for the game and all it's cutscenes? :retarded:

I am contributing to this by noting that the shower fight scene described in Paz's tapes was drawn for some artwork in the sleeve of some audio CD.

I saw Big Boss at a grocery store in Phoenix yesterday. I told him how cool it was to meet him in person and congratulated him on forming FOXHOUND last weekend, but I didn’t want to be a douche and bother him and ask him for photos or anything.

He said, “Photos, what do those do?”

I was taken aback, and all I could say was “Huh?” but he kept cutting me off and going “Huh? Huh?” and crouching while putting his finger to his ear. I walked away and continued with my shopping, and I heard him grunt as I walked off. When I came to pay for my stuff up front I saw him trying to sneak out the doors with like fifteen Russian Glowcaps in his hands without paying.

The girl at the counter was very nice about it and professional, and was like “Sir, you need to pay for those first.” At first he kept pretending to be talking to someone on his codec and not hear her, but eventually turned back around and brought them to the counter.

When she took one of the glowcaps and started scanning it multiple times, he stopped her and told her to scan them each individually “to give them a little extra charge,” and then turned around and winked at me. After she scanned each mushroom individually and put them in a bag and started to say the price, he kept interrupting her by talking about obscure military trivia really loudly.

There's a very brief mention at the beginning where Kaz says, "WELL, I'M GLAD WE'RE DONE WITH SAN HIERONAMO!"

You know, I can totally see why they wouldn't dub this stuff. I don't think any of the English VA's would be able to dub this stuff without getting embarrassed at the obvious amount of homosexual double entendres in this stuff. That and it wouldn't sound as good.

    That's why we have this:

To complete Peace Walker 100%, Big Boss needs to be a bisexual pedo.
