Not really open world. Just open level like Tomb Raider reboot.

Tried it. If it wasn't for the promise of an open map, I wouldn't have lasted past the prologue which was typical modernized, fps railroad crap.
It got slightly better then, but it appears the game is designed in patterns of freeform - railroad - freeform - railroad.

Visuals are really great, but the gameplay isn't that great. Feels a bit like watered-down stalker (they even have one type of anomaly). Stealth is really overpowered,
I beat one bandit hideout by approaching one guy after another for a takedown, which are 100% silent, even if the next guy is 1,5m away. Hitreg feels very random,
which doesn't help with the gunplay. So, shooting monsters is pointless as they can be quite resistant unless you hit the sweet spot, and don't give any resources.
On the other hand, killing humans is trivial (feels a bit like high level Stealth + Archery in Skyrimjob).

Playing this on normal, and I get the feeling that all the challenge in the game is from the fact that I can't be bothered to craft medikits and ammo and am sitting on 400+ of each crafting resource.
With regenerating health, the game would be quite trivial.

What saves the game are the environments and visuals. Very diverse and well done (although also feel a bit samey after a bit, first area is snow, water and railroads, second area is sand and shipwrecks)

Cinematics, cinematics and more cinematics, this game is filled with this shit, you get them constantly and they are long, pointless and unrealistic. They are like 60% of the fucking game,it is the biggest flaw of the game, they are endless.

Couldn't agree more. They are absolutely FUCKING ENDLESS, and unskippable to boot. Much cinematic, so immershun. Wow.

Between that, listening to the NPC's neverending verbal diarrhea even outside of cutscenes, and playing mash the awesome E button, the main challenge of this farce is retaining one's sanity for the duration.

Pretty much the only thing I liked about the game was the scenery/level design, although it is absolutely NOT open world in any real sense; that hook is a complete fucking lie.

Make the Codex Great Again!
Metro 2033 doesn't have BioWare cinematics. What it has is more like a bunch of really poorly made CoD cinematics that are only there to disrupt the pacing and otherwise annoy you. You know, spots where the game wrestles control away from you for a moment just to show you something super exciting, like those inconsequential, unavoidable scripted moments where your character gets knocked down, only to be saved mere seconds later by some random character you'll forget about in five minutes. The game is littered with this kind of stuff, and it's invariably terrible.

Dunno about Last Light or Exodus.

One of the two things about 2033 that really bugged me was how you would find perfectly ok looking filters in the distance, run over in hopes of picking them up, only to realise they can't be. If you're in a danger zone where the air is fucking lava, then you're screwed, because you just wasted 8 precious seconds to run over to something that should have been frobbable. I counted at least thrice where the game gave me the finger.

The other thing was how scripted everything felt. It's set piece after set piece. Normally I wouldn't have minded that, but then you could die halfway while an NPC was escorting you, and nobody would bat an eyelid if you died in front of them. Felt like I had fuck all agency. It didn't help that I played 2033 right after I completed STALKER SOC, which just made the shitty experience stand out even more.

I remember you had to kill the Strelok.

Or nuke Moscow.

Definitely one of those.

In the original (don't know about redux) you could only carry a finite number of filters, so if you were at your max number and every filter you had had more time left than the one you found you couldn't pick it up. Since most people will change the filter before the time runs out (because of the fogged up mask) and when playing at higher difficulties the filters you find had very little time left, you would often find ones you can't pick up.
And indeed, if you were running out of time those shitty filters you found would not guarantee you can get anywhere anyway, they had VERY little time left. I remember having to restart one level on ranger hardcore because I forgot to buy filters.

listening to the NPC's neverending verbal diarrhea even outside of cutscenes,
They could have been great if the protag had a voice and maybe a few dialogue options. But as it is now,i do agree,it is shit.

The biggest issue with those shitty monologs is the pause between the lines. It feels choppy and you're never sure if the NPCs are done talking. I bet everybody ITT walked away from an NPC because they thought they were done with their dumbass speech only to backtrack because Anna had some more unimportant shit to say.

My biggest gripe with Exodus is that it punishes you for exploring because you will usually find less resources then you need to replace the ammo you lose killing the mutants. It's also full of bugs, glitches, broken AI and small things that break immersion. The funniest part is the brain dead stealth AI, so there is no reason to actually use the guns you have because you can just take them out from behind. Honestly the recent Far Cry games have a better stealth AI. The best part is that the comabat AI isn't very bright either but it cheats a lot, it can see throgh most covers, spots you within seconds and it never resets back to normal mode even if you sleep for 2 days.
Still i enjoyed my 22h in Russia though iot could have been better if the developers focused more on quality instead of creating huge empty open world levels. Because the game's best momenst happen underground or in the linear sections.

New phenomenon of the PC platform wars - illegal Steam key smuggling: https://steamcommunity.com/app/412020/discussions/0/1771511442683077969/

Metro Exodus 3rd party site keys

We have been made aware of illegal stolen keys being sold by an unofficial key reseller.

These keys have been obtained illegally from the factory where physical key printing had taken place prior to the announcement of exclusivity with Epic Games, due to the criminal nature of these keys, all unlicensed keys have been deactivated and activation / download of Metro Exodus without the executable file is no longer possible. In addition, the software will be removed from the Steam library of any players using an unauthorised code. The keys being sold on this platform are stolen goods, and are therefore illegal.

If you have been affected we strongly recommend you contact the seller who sold you the unlicensed key and demand a refund.

The only supported key sellers for Metro Exodus were Humblebundle and the Razer store.

Metro Exodus will return to Steam after 14 February 2020.

Haven't watched the vid but Exodus is my favourite Metro game by far. But it is still not quite at STALKER level.

You mean to say you bought the game on Epic? YOU?
What? Never. I bought it on steam. And on JRC where I got the aurora edition and sold the epic key to someone from overclockers.co.uk.
