That CH review is pretty bad, reads like the guy has never written anything professionally in his life. Aside from the errors and mistakes, it just comes across like a dry recitation of facts. I suppose you can't expect much from a backwater fansite, though.

I knew that I'll regret that purchase...

 

I can't beat Mamushi on the Warrior difficulty with my all-mage party because I keep running out of mana.

Shit, this playthrough has been so fun so far. Now that I know which spells are useless and which deal the most damage though, I'll probably restart with a new 4-mage party, this time investing all stat- and skill-points in improving my mana pool. Given how powerful some of the protective spells are, I probably don't need to invest any points in vitality or endurance at all.

Regeneration is way overpowered IMO.

Also it seems that if one were to like to steamroll this game just go with 3 mages and a dorf and have the dorf eat mana potions as they taunt.

It is, but on the other hand I'm glad it's there 'cause otherwise an all-mage party would be just completely non-viable. It was the first spell I picked up at the magic shop - a no-brainer, really.

Can someone point me to a thread or post by Ubisoft or the Devs as to WHY the US can't buy the boxed version?!!!

I do have @Vault Dweller being a true bro and offering to help me get one but I am still frustrated as to why I can't purchase one myself.

 

Gave it a shot for about 30 mins. Like others have said, the game runs surprisingly awfully on my computer. I didn't have a FPS meter running, but it felt like it was maybe 10fps, if that. Not a major deal with a turn-based game like this, but pretty weird.

 

Well my friend, use the prestige of our magazine here and help find the answer.... a well crafted email or tweet might help loosen their lips. You can even go all real journalist and say "unnamed sources have said..." when you post the reply.

 

Oh, really now. Have they been sending you steamy PMs? How many blowjobs does a man have to furnish to get an ETA on an FPS optimization patch, etc.
