Betrayed, ambushed, abducted, left for dead... but this LP survived and it's back with a vengeance !

Let's do a quick recap :
- Melvin's wife and son have been missing.
- They were last seen in Greenview Inn, England, during their vacation there.
- Melvin came to the Inn to look for them.
- Freaky shit is happening in the inn.
- All leads point to the Inn's basement.
- And that's where we're heading... hold on to your butts !

VII : FIN

Now that I finally have what I guess to be the basement key, I descend the dark-lit staircase once more.

missing2406.jpg

All is quiet now. I'm not sure if this is for better or worse...

missing2407.jpg

I take a look through the keyhole, but...

missing2409.jpg

Oh well, I put the key into the lock and find it to be a perfect fit. Let's what awaits beyond :

missing2413.jpg

missing2416.jpg

The room is painted with traces of blood and intestines are scattered all over.

missing2424.jpg

Slowly I take a look across the room. The occupants are two dead bodies, and someone who's tied to the wall.

missing2427.jpg

Melvin.png
My god ! It's her ! It's Elle !

Suddenly, I hear something behind me...

missing2432.jpg

missing2434.jpg

:rage:

Day 4. June 9th, 1990.

missing2441.jpg

Melvin.png
Arrghh, my head...

My memory is a bit hazy, but after a while, I finally remember what happened.

missing2445.jpg

I didn't have the chance to react. He smashed my head with a bottle of his finest whine.

Melvin.png
And once again, alcohol gets the best of me...

missing2449.jpg

My head's aching really bad and the smell is making my stomach churn.

missing2451.jpg

But still, I need to make sense of this. I take a closer look at the body lying next to me:

missing2478.jpg

I'm guessing that she's been dead for at least three weeks or so.

Melvin.png
I wonder who the woman is...?

missing2487.jpg

There is something next to the body. Looks like an I.D. of some kind...

missing2490.jpg

I take a closer look...

missing2492.jpg

Melvin.png
...!

Gloria ?! No it can't be... it's not possible !

I turn to the other body, I need to focus on the situation at hand.

missing2454.jpg

I guess this must be why I hadn't seen him yesterday.

missing2457.jpg

He must have been the one pounding the door over and over before. There's a nasty incision on the victim's stomach. I think it might've been done after he died.

missing2464.jpg

His skull's been crushed and I can see his brain. It's a tough way to go. As I flinch in disgust I realize that the knife is still stuck on him !

missing2466.jpg

It takes me a couple of tries to get it right, I slice myself the first few times. Oh well, it's a small sacrifice...

missing2473.jpg

I'm free at last ! I must help Elle !

missing2494.jpg

Melvin.png
Elle, it's me... are you all right ?

missing2497.jpg

She sobs. Her words send a chill through my spine. What have they done to David ?

missing2502.jpg

OH SHI-

missing2505.jpg

Why can't I get a goddamned break ?

missing2509.jpg

GREG-02.png
I hope you two weren't planning on leaving the party this early.

Melvin.png
You bastard ! Let us go, you maniac !

GREG-01.png
Now, mr. Melvin. You're in no place to talk to me in that tone.

Melvin.png
So why'd you do it... money ?

GREG-01.png
Do what ?

Melvin.png
You know what I mean, Gregory. Smuggling body organs.

GREG-02.png
Impressive detective work, Mr. Melvin. I'm surprised !

missing2518.jpg

GREG-02.png
I have plenty of money. Enough for three generations. But yes, it's partly for the money. More money never hurt, Mr. Melvin. Besides... it keeps the lowlifes in their place.

Melvin.png
What ?

GREG-01.png
The lowlifes, Mr. Melvin, the common people. They're nothing without people like me.

Melvin.png
And who do you think you are ?

GREG-02.png
We practically run the world's economy Mr. Melvin. Without us, the world is nothing !

Melvin.png
Who is this "we" you keep talking about about !

GREG-01.png
Mr. Melvin, that's a dumb question.

missing2530.jpg

GREG-02.png
We need those organs to preserve our kind, Mr. Melvin. It's a small sacrifice you lowlifes will have to make.

Melvin.png
You're mad !

GREG-01.png
You're mad to think you have any value, Mr. Melvin. After all, this world is nothing without us !

Melvin.png
Then why did you kill your father ?

GREG-01.png
Oh, that old fool. I managed to fool that old man for a while. I convinced him that I was innocent. My father believed me.

missing2537.jpg

GREG-01.png
I tried to convince him to join me, but he wouldn't hear a word of it. He was going to turn me in. I couldn't allow that. He had to go.

Melvin.png
What about Vince, why'd you kill him ? Isn't he your partner ?

GREG-01.png
That idiot deserves it. I told him to bring me people with no relatives. Insignificant people.

Melvin.png
But instead he brought you a famous actress...

GREG-01.png
Yes. That fool. He almost ruined my operation five years ago. But I am a forgiving man, Mr. Melvin. I gave him another chance.

missing2549.jpg

GREG-01.png
After all I've done for him ! I gave him all the money he could wish for !

Melvin.png
So you silenced him and used him even after he's dead, you sick bastard !

GREG-02.png
Can't let it go to waste.

Melvin.png
You bastard ! Where's my son ! Where is he ?!

GREG-01.png
Watch your language, Mr. Melvin. A lady is present.

missing2557.jpg

GREG-02.png
Just not in one piece, that's all.

That last sentence sends me over the edge. I can fell blood rushing through me veins. Then I lunge towards him with all my might.

missing2574.jpg

I sprawl in the floor in agony.

missing2572.jpg

Melvin.png
You sick fucker... you don't deserve to live...!

missing2573-4.gif

He shot me over and over again. One hits my thigh, another grazes my cheek. One bullet pierces through my stomach. I can feel my life being drained.

missing2584.jpg

GREG-01.png
Do you know what your wife has been doing all this time ? You wouldn't believe the things she would do for her son, Mr. Melvin.

missing2593.jpg

He lets out the most horrifying laugh that I have ever heard. With rage burning my heart, I look at him straight in the eye.

missing2598.jpg

Of all the profanities that I could think up, I ended up using the most basic one.

Melvin.png
fuck you.

missing2603.jpg

GREG-01.png
It's time to end this, Mr. Melvin. Bryce ! Bring down my surgery equipment !

All I can do is lie down in a pool of my own blood.

GREG-02.png
I have great plans for you, Melvin. I've got someone who could use your heart.

missing2611.jpg

GREG-01.png
Bryce ! Where the hell are you !

:BANG:

missing2615.jpg

missing2619.jpg

missing2625.jpg

missing2628.jpg

I try to speak, but all I manage to do is vomit another handful of blood.

missing2635.jpg

GARY.png
Steve told me about you. I'm sorry I got here a little bit too late...

Melvin.png
H-how am... I doing ?

GARY.png
I called the ambulance in anticipation, but...

Melvin.png
It's bad, isn't it...

GARY.png
I'm sorry. I'm afraid so. I don't think you have much time.

He hands his gun to me.

missing2645.jpg

Gregory is still alive it seems...

GARY.png
It's the least I can do, Melvin. I'm sorry.

GREG-03.png
You're a cop for Christ's sake ! You can't do this to me !

GARY.png
I'll tell them it's justifiable homicide.

GREG-03.png
Please take the gun away from him ! I don't want to die ! I can't die !

He crawls pathetically towards the exit. I grasp the gun and take aim, but the damage's been done.

missing2660.jpg

Garry then holds my hand, keeping it steady, and points it towards Gregory.

GARY.png
Just pull the trigger whenever you're ready.

With all of the strength left in my body, I pull the trigger.

What is it about deus ex machina that writers love to use it so much. Still, it was an interesting little game. :bro:

Quite a sad and grimdark ending :(, I've expected something more supernatural, but whatever, works well enough. Congrats for the completed LP, ghostly canine!

Oh well, at least Gary has been seen stalking the house since day one, and you must do something to compensate the protagonist getting constantly ambushed from behind.

I think it was better that the supernatural remained low key in the end (only with Gloria) , all supernatural events where things only the protagonist experienced, I'm glad there weren't any zombies looking for revenge in the end.

Also yeah It had a pretty somber tone so I had to refrain from any terminator jokes:

Hasta la vista, baby.

Not a very good ending, but still a pretty decent little game there. Cool. Thanks for the LP.

Thanks for this ghostdog, enjoyed it even if the ending was rubbish. I guess I'll content myself a little by assuming that the Interpol guy is clearly the ultimate baddie behind the scenes, who has now managed to completely eliminate the trail...
