Arxeltribe, publisher of Mistmare, has updated the game's official website with the inclusion of three short movies with some detail on the game's combat schools and a couple of spells.

Just in case you were wondering what Mistmare is about, it is an RPG set in in the year 1996, the result of an alternate timeline in which the industrial revolution never took place, with no modern technology; a Renaissance period set in modern times, complete with the Church and the Inquisition.

    Sounds interesting enough, doesn't it?

That depends, is it just another first person shooter disguised as an RPG because it has a character system? If so, I'm not interested at all.

But hey, with Deus Ex being so popular and all, it wouldn't shock me if there were a few dozen clones of it.

I really enjoyed Deus Ex, though. I think it's a terrific game with the kind of open endedness you'd never think to find in an FPS. Though the degree of freedom is pretty constrictive/limited, it makes for a very nice story-based title.

It's certainly no where near as good as it was made out to be, that's for sure. I'll have to ask Gareth for where his post on Deus Ex's game design problems are that he posted on some Australian gaming site's forum. It was pretty good - and LONG!
