Interesting read. Even if the game should suck you get at least a decent casino game.

Looks nice. Would buy it if the game is enjoyable.

Meh, the extras are more interesting and look better in this Fallout: New Reno than the fugly bobble-head and clock from the "original".

And I'd like to browse through that comic book. I hope someone scans it so I can not remove it from inventory.

MCA writing a FO novel? This should be interesting. After so many years over PST, this might be the ultimate test/indication of his writing skills, perhaps.

edit: Oh, it's a comic book. I knew something wasn't right, packaging a nextgen consoletard game with a tome of text.

edit2: I'm disappointed they're still going with the loose FO3 design of the Vault Suit. I was hoping to see the tight design from the originals again.

Ohh yeah, Romans are in! As a true Roman I applaud the spectacle of blood and vaginas awaiting us...

    Ohh wait, Romans? WTF!?

I see, FO2 all over again, huh? Well, maybe this time they'll made it good. Can it be good?

    It's a graphic novel

I think it would look weird in 3d. There was a mod for it, can't find the pic now but it looks more or less like this

Wiping it off as we speak

Seriously though, this is one of the better looking collector's edition sets. Looks worth buying if the game is good... It actually comes with some nice stuff relevant to the theme of the game. Unfortunately, the chances of the game being good are extremely slim at this point, considering Bethesda's "quality control" and the shitty engine Obsidian's 'having to work with.

Well, they're at least trying to make skill checks more interesting. Being able to smuggle a pistol into a place where you'd normally be rendered unarmed thanks to a high enough Sneak skill is neat.

And the companions sound like they'll be fleshed out more than 'sure, I'll hang with you' and that's it.

Only faggots call them graphic novels. Real men call the Comic books, or Quadrinhos.

Check out the bar on the right, with the hard-to-see font. This starts about halfway down:

"Fallout: New Vegas adds something from Fallout 2 as well - special dialogue options for characters with low intelligence.
"Obsidian decided that instead of having dumb characters speak caveman-like gibberish, however, that limited intelligence would manifest itself by having characters regularly miss the point of things. 'When there's a line that shows a bit of higher intelligence, your character just botches it and says something really dumb and doesn't get it,' says project lead Josh Sawyer. 'That way, we can tailor it a little more, so we're not simply rewriting every single line of dialogue with a dumb version. When it's called for the player says something extra dumb and the character responds to it. Sometimes it affects you negatively, sometimes it's funny. Sometimes it actually has a positive outcome.'"

I quite like the sound of this, but is Obsidian taking hype cues from Bethesda?

"Graphic novel" was a term invented by people too chickenshit to admit they're reading, enjoying, or finding interest in a comic book, because it sounds more "adult."

I'll probably get the collector's edition.

This is the first FONV update where I really didn't have a problem with any of the new info. Not even the CE, I don't give a damn what bethesda's marketing team does with the game as long as they keep their tentacles off its development. Looking forward to this.
