Nethack Windows Ver. Tilemap Loading Problem

Seeing the most excellent Nethack avatars that had been uploaded (courtesy John Shaw?) I figured I'd grab the tile set. However, I have had no luck getting them to load. I'm always told by nethack that it can't load the tileset, and it's using the default ones.
Not sure what the problem is, as absurd128.bmp does indeed exist in the same directory as nethackw.exe.

Here are the relevant lines of my defaults.nh file.
The files are in d:\games\Nethack, by the by.

HACKDIR=d:\games\nethack
OPTIONS=tile_file:absurd128.bmp,tile_height:128,tile_width:128
OPTIONS=map_mode:tiles,scroll_margin:5

Thanks for the thought, but still no luck. I even redownloaded nethack and the bitmap. Ah well. I suppose this is fate telling me that nethack shall be enjoyed in ASCII mode. No biggie. Those were sweet tiles though. <sigh>

Odd thing is, other tile sets work fine (vanilla .bmps also) but just Absurd does not. Arrrgh.

Try noGNUd

I couldn't get tiles to work with vanilla nethack either, but noGNUd does all those nice tilesets with ease.
