Best Way, developers of Men of war series, just announced their new game, a 3rd person shooter/rpg New Union.

The game is set in a post-apocalyptic Soviet Union. No details are known yet, just some artworks and screenshots:

I might be interested if it was a survival game about actual surviving. While I liked Stalker i always felt all three games had too small worlds with too many people and monsters inhabiting them.

The screenshots look nice, but so do other games.
Will follow. If it's anything like Stalker, it will be a lot of fun. Post-apoc soviet union is an interesting setting.

Art direction looks breathtaking.... Although I would rather play something done in less Soviet style setting. Game about last Apocalipse in Russia between 1905-1923 would be cool. Especially done from White Russian perspective.

 

Disappointing news, bros. It will be mission based. Well, i guess it still can be cool.

- Official site states it's genre is RPG, but i decided to put in general discussion until we know just how much "RPG" is there.
- Real time combat with ability to pause.
- It will have a party, but without direct control.
- Nuclear ITZ happens in 1962, game is set in 2012.
- Main character is a former pilot who personally participated in nuking Kwa.
- Playable version will be presented this autumn, release date is spring 2013

Any chance of it being turn-based? I felt Men of War suffered greatly from being real time. Your infantry getting raped because they run out of ammunition and just stand there getting shot at (refusing to pick up the ammunition or enemy rifle on the floor next to them) while your micromanaging some tank on the other side of the battlefield was pretty painful.
