Now that I think about it... even though I do now have the PC version floating around... I think I only ever played Deus Ex on the PS2 since my computer would've imploded had I tried to run it at the time.

Guess I'll have to add a replay of that on PC to the endless pile of shame.

    Short reviews.

    Dark Spire
Fun crawling times, a bit too repetitive but well, it's the most you can expect from a DS crawler.

    FFT
A classic. Got everything right: gameplay, story, music. Probably my favourite RPG of all time (if judged by the number of replays).

    SOTN
You run around the castle killing things. Nothing too special, really, but the music + style and freestyle exploration of it left a lasting good impression.

    TO:LUCT
Story, music. Fun little "party RPG". A mini-FFT.

    Vagrant Story
Crappy gameplay, but the music/story/setting were good.

We had 38 users voting for 201 unique games, with 101 of them having only one vote. Quite interesting how everyone likes different consoles RPGs, even the first game in the list got less than half the votes.

Would be nice if until the end we could get around 100 voters, to all those 4 & 3 vote games apart.

EDIT: Bloody spoiler tags, how do they work?

Final Fantasy 10-2 better than Grandia?

I don't want to live on this planet anymore.

That list and ranking is pretty :incline: so far. Got the right Tales of game on there. FF6 easily in the top 3. The best SMTs. LoZ is where it should be: higher than Aonuma Zelda.

Although I'd say that Seiken Densetsu 3/SoM 2 is easily the best Mana game, but it never came here officially.

Funny to see Persona 4 in top ten and over most of the SMT series when the Codex constantly bitches about romances in rpg.

P4 added the option to have platonic relationships with the female cast. It was P3 that had the forced romances, but that also had hilarious consequences if your girlfriends ever found out.

OH WELL, THIS CHANGES EVERYTHING THEN.

No wait, it really doesn't. All the girls still want your dick and there still no consequences from dating everyone and their mothers.

I think it's more about the daily life aspect and the freedom it gives you. It's like the perfect blend of a visual novel with a regular RPG. Of course, the dungeon crawling could be better (more like Nocturne), as well as the writting (more like Kara no Shoujo), but the overall experience is more than the sum of it's parts, and P4 ends up being quite fun & memorable.

The childish romances do fit in Persona 4's setting and story. There is nothing out of place about teens being teens. And one could say it does fit with the setting that everyone can grow to consider the main character his or her ideal. If he were from a different Arcanum it would be foolish but it does fit The Fool that he is able to turn into what every one of his friends and potential love interests do need or want. It is a very different situation to the ones most role playing games with romances do create to justify them.

Edit: @ felipepepe: Will you go through the posts you did already count again once the time does end?

Sure, there is almost 2 months until the end of the voting (blame Jeasun), so lists and tastes are bound to change. Feel free to edit anything. :)

There is something out of place when you can bang Yukiko, Chie, Rise, all you female friends without consequences whatsoever. Chie and Yukiko supposed to be friend, but they don't have any problem sharing the same man between them apparently (and with half town). It's even worse than DA2 is that regard.

@ Malpercio: I do not wish to argue this point ad nauseam but while I am able to understand how that may trouble you I do also understand this is exactly how most teens in at least some subcultures do act. Even more so in groups as thight and close as the one the game does develop. It would be interesting to develop the game's interpersonal relationships further but I do believe it would be beyond the scope of the game. That aside I did never say it was perfect. I did say it does make sense in the context given and for the characters present. I do believe it does make more sense than in, for example, Dragon Age 2.
Yet there is not much else I am able to add without this turning into a wall of text so I will not go beyond this point. Do have a nice day.

The fact these romances don't end in awkward 3d models having sex onscreen also helps a long way in making them more tolerable.

I have known at least two couple of female teen friends showing that behavior, I don't say is common, but seems that girls at their first sexual experiences tend to rely on their bosom friend quite a lot, without mentioning that tey are all after the hot stud that usually has already had a lot of girlfriends.
And this is why kids you must do it as soon as possible, even with the ugliest of the lot, girls don't appreciate virgins.

Yeah, the age appropriateness of the romances in the Persona games is a huge factor. Childish romances are far less jarring in cartoonish games starring children than they are in a game striving for maturity and complexity. Watching two teenagers awkwardly fumble into a naive romance after math class is kind of sweet. Watching two experienced warriors do the same thing in the midst of seeing friends and family die horribly while sacrificing innocents for the greater good is kind of...stupid?

    That too.
