Oblivion, Stolen Painting in Chorrol

So, I'm stumped. I've interviewed everyone (according to the quest log), found two clues - The unusual painting and Chanel's hidden paint gear(noted in quest log). I seem to be missing one or several clues, anyone care to give me a tip as to what?

please someone tell me what is that damn ring u talking about i found two clue's
about it i found the painting set in the lady room chara i think and 1 in the west tower
hidden painting i dont know more where is the dinning room anyways <<< : :

and one more thing about the race
i got max speed points 100 and agility
to but i still see ppl run faster then me
lot faster is that beacuse of the race
?oh and when i close oblivion gate i
get some good stuff i do trick i seve befor i take it
until i get somthing i need :D i got good things now
i got speed and agilty bonus and add to armors
but its do not effect on me why ? i still run the same
and i do same dmg with more agility points i wonder if
resist magic works to :/ please help me ......

I thought the picture the thief was painting pointed to a place where she stashed the stolen painting (she was paiting the church); I went to that location looking for something. An hour later I looked it up on the net and realised I needed to randomly click on the carpet.

How awesome is Oblivion.

I find it funny that there is one quest in Oblivion where it does not lead you totally by the nose, and all I ever see is emails with the subject "Stuck on Chorrol Painting".

In any other RPG I doubt anyone would even hesitate to find the solution. Just goes to show that dumbing things down makes people dumbed down. Not that I think people are stupid, just that they get so used to not having to think even slightly that they no longer have the patience to do it.
