    They were quite obviously planning to release on tablets, just don't say out loud because being too honest doesn't do well for kickstarter campaigns. Isn't multiplataform support one of the selling points of unity? Don't you think Wasteland 2 and Torment will get a tablet release too?

    True dat.

    I doubt this will be too much of a problem for the gameplay on PC anyway, it's Sawyer after all, the guy who worries about playability at the detriment of everything else. I'm p. sure the systems design will turn me off more than needing to click and hold instead of right click to change formation. Or something.

    Just keep the number of possible interactions with your environment at a bare minimum and there's no need for rightclick context menus. :M

    Keyboard shortcuts are way superior to menu traversal, though, so lack of right-click isn't necessarily an alarming situation.

    There isn't a lack of right click. It's "one button friendly" not one button exclusive.

    I think it's unlikely that they will just cut out any possibility to have shortcuts. It would also be quite absurd since you can select a dialogue option by pressing the relative number key - thus a shortcut
    Just to say it once again. Sawyer said PE is going to be one-button-friendly not one-button-only.

    Edit: Well, tuluse was faster.

    I'm probably in the carpal-tunneled minority but as long as a game has the default action left click, context menu right click option I just use the mouse for everything.

    Me too. Exept Tab,space,and Q, i never used anything else for IE. Maybe right click on portraits to go to invintory. The rest was always left click.

    Aren't most mouse-driven point-and-click games one-button-friendly by definition? It doesn't even take much tweaking of design goals, and it sounds like the kind of design goal Sawyer would implement simply for ease-of-us and clarity of UI. If left mouse is ever main function, that is really easy to use and works well with hotkeys. Then right mouse button probably opens up like a context menu? I mean, how else would you want them to design it?

    I feel people go to the "oooh so it's for porting to..." quite fast. It's a lazy accusation that ignores how complex design decisions are. I seriously doubt Obsidian are thinking about ports (and I wouldn't put it on Mac either, though that may be a factor)

    PS: uh, just to clarify, WL2 is very much so not one-button friendly, it's a three-button game for the mouse.

    I couldn't imagine playing FO without the right mouse button, so I guess that's an example of a two-button focussed design. Like felipepe said, almost all pc mouses have 3 buttons these days, so you'd hope they'd design the game with that in mind, instead of making a one button focussed one. But then again, I probably just like using the mouse more than most.

    Though actually now that I think about it FO just had the right mouse button switch from move cursor to context menu cursor, so maybe not best example. Still, left button default action, right button for context menu and middle button for awesome would be my ideal.

    Holding middle button so you can pan the camera would be one thing. Tapping it would center on the selected character(s)?

    Come on people, you all saw the UI mockups they showd up in previous updates, they were copies of the IE UIs. Don't jump to fucking conclusions. I can't fucking believe that every time there is an update or some new info, somebody has to turn that upside down and assume the worst.

    Maintain critical thinking, but it is ridiculous that some Codexer has to bring up some retarded shit without any proof. Do you get your fix this way, or what? You really think that it will be a one-button UI? Really? After we have all seen in the updates? Sawyer explicitly says that right click button will have uses, it is just that left click will be the primary. Like in every fuckin IE game ever?

    Edit: Now that I think about it why does IE games need zoom? Tablet port confirmed. Look on the bright side, tablet port could have turn based combat.
