    Boring interview:

MCA says that Obsidian no longer rules out another Kickstarter, though there aren't any plans currently.

I wasn't aware they had ever ruled out another kickstarter.

Is anyone really surprised that companies like getting millions of dollars with no need to pay it back or even share the profit?

The branch horns too. If I wasn't told those were trolls I'd think they were some weird kind of male dryads.

As long as the company in question is Obsidian, I'm fine with that

More Kickstarters? I guess we can look forward to the inevitable spin-offs like Sawyer's 'Dyrwood Dale' and Avellone's 'Eternityscape: Misery'.

They could, for varietys sake, try to blend their RPG and storytelling expertise for a bit different style than before... Mix and match, and add an abstracted combat system and other, more proper, RPG features: 1. 2. 3.

MCa doing a High School jRPG is possibly the only thing they can pull out that would get my immediate support. :3

Avellone stopped caring about the high school RPG after Rockstar made Bully. Plus they have South Park.

I'm sure I've mentioned it before but my ideal Kickstarter/PoE-profit-funded Josh-projects would be

    a) a pseudo-spiritual successor to Bloodlines that takes place in an urban fantasy setting. Possibly a re-purposed Hidden though tbqh I think the whole "there are fantastic creatures hiding in the real world!" is a bit overdone and I'd prefer something more like Mieville's New Crobuzon.

    b) a sci-fi turn-based game. Possibly a re-purposed Aliens: Crucible so they don't step too much on Fargo's turf. It could be pitched as the tactical gameplay of XCOM with role playing and a reactive story. It could also still be fully voice-acted so they can preserve that "time doesn't pause while you're talking" element.

Or go the other way around. Make a PC-exclusive Aliens as envisioned with a downgrade in graphics fidelity or a turn-based urban fantasy that takes place entirely in one city, like a more-detailed Tarant.

A direct sequel to Bloodlines would be great, maybe Obsidian can buy the IP from Activision, and license the rules from White Wolf or make their own.
A spiritual successor to Falllout with Tim Cain as lead designer would also be fantastic. Not very likely though because of Wasteland 2 and, of course, Bethfucktardesda.

    Hmmmm! After PoE...

Ziets/Avellone-led Tormentesque RPG built on PoE, with the same rules and same setting but some crazy twist. Like, the PC plays a fallen God or something.

    DLC adventures for PoE.

Sawyer/Cain-led Fallout (to Fallout 4, as New Vegas was to Fallout 3).

A sci-fi RPG, maybe what Roguey suggests.

A sequel to BG or something like that.

    Telltale-style C&C adventure game.

    EDIT:

I want them to do a prison RPG though. I think it would work well with their faction-centric C&C thingamajoos. It could be ultra-violent too.

Wouldn't mind a Dark Ages style RPG myself, or an Oriental setting - like uhhh well I can only think of Throne of Darkness, but not like that ... more like this

also Dark Sun, probs my favourite D&D world.

Zelzany's Amber, Moorcock's Eternal Champion multiverse, Dunsany's Pegana or Lieber's Lankhmar; any of these would make a great setting for an RPG if done properly. Invariably we're always stuck with some rehash or rip-off of Tolkien's Middle Earth, or some fuck soup aping the Forgotten Realms.

I'm in for either a Ravenloft or a Dark Sun game, all in!
    Or maybe a Stargate RPG?

Chris Avellone should just make that Wire RPG he's been dreaming about.
