I think it's the game/mod. I have a pretty high spec computer and I've turned the settings down to low textures, 800x600 resolution... no more crashes but I'm still getting cut-scenes, and even just populated areas at about 5 frames per second. I know he said there were special water effects but the game looks like crap otherwise. I don't care about the graphics but the performance impact is insane.

Actually seems to get worse at night... pretty gray most of the time. I have disabled shadows too.

You have connected the PSU power cable to the card, haven't you?

I had similar problems with NWN2, with X1950XT, and similarily, no problems with (most) other games. Thorough system/hardware maintenance helped (with those other games, like TW, too). And I did play with maximum widscreen resolution (16xx/whatever).

I'd say a barbarian doesn't need a second class, you get a plenty of abilities at higher barbarian levels. Of course, frenzied berzerker gets you a lot of additional damage with two-handed weapons, fighter gets you bonus feats, some of them fighter-exclusive (last of them, iirc, being greater weapon specialisation at fighter 12), etc. Still, those better rage abilities, damage reduction and such are pretty good.

That often doesn't matter. I can run Crysis just fine, but Trials 2 (some gussied up elastomania clone on steam) made my card run super hot.

Nothing is going on, it's been coded by earthworms. Requirements this game has are indeed insane, considering what it can display... Bio should have licensed the engine used in the witcher instead... uh wait...

I like it zoomed out. You can see the surroundings to the side and behind the character as well as seeing his ass as opposed to recent over the shoulder perspectives,

which are compromises between 3rd person and first person viewpoints.

Maybe it's my history with MMOs, but I dont have a preference in camera perspective. They all have their good and bad points. Gimme a game where I can do all of them whenever I want to and I'll be happy.

More often than not I'll play in 3rd person though so I can see my character in the middle of his environment. One on One combat is fun in 1st person but fighting multiples or adventuring where there's some suspense I like to be 3rd person.

Climbing and jumping in Gothic in first person would be annoyingly difficult.

The Witcher has a good third-person view.

Play NWN 1 and 2 in isometric.
