From what I understand the CEO behind Paradox is not against selling mods, but I do think he wants a cut.

My favorite Paradox game is Vicky 2. I doubt they shall achieve such greatness again. EU4 is quite bad compared to EU3 and hearts of Iron 3 isn't that good so HoI 4 will probably suck.

It sounds familiar...

Sengoku (September 2011) -> Crusader Kings II (February 2014)
March of the Eagles (February 2013) -> EU4 (August 2013)
Augustus? (February 2016?) -> HOI IV (August 2016?)

New IP hinted at. Going to be dropping teasers until Gamescom:

https://forum.paradoxplaza.com/forum/index.php?threads/augustus-teaser-1-23rd-of-july-2015.872437/

I'm so very badly hoping it's Rome. A new IP removes Vic3 from the equation, but the original Rome game was attached to EU so technically a newer Rome game could be an original IP. At least, that's what I'm hoping for...
Crusader Kings predate EU: Rome, so they apparently don't consider Rome to be a "major new IP". That does leave the door open for a new dedicated Roman game to be both new and major.

Runemaster's codename was Nero, so I don't think Augustus necessarily implies a Rome game.

Johan the teasing cunt said:
Seven and Three are important numbers.

7 and 3? Uh magic numbers, good luck? Maybe some kind of mythological game or set in ancient times with astrology being important? Like a bronze age or iron age game set in the Middle East. Could be fun.

But really, pure speculation.

Game set on The Fall of Roman Empire, from something like 200ad to 700-800ad?

Paradox is the worst company ever, the game is a new IP, and they use Roman Emperor names for all their projects.

Teaser #5, #6 and #7.

Game Director is Henrik Fåhraeus, 15 year industry veteran, lead designer behind the Crusader Kings and Hearts of Iron series.
Elections and Technological Development are important parts of the game.
This is a project we've always dreamt about doing, something all of PI have been involved in, not just the PDS developers.

Most people seem certain that it's a space game. Paradox has some assets in a sci-fi setting, apparently, and they've been registering some science-y stuff lately.

PI published a book or something. Apparently the setting is basically space Byzantium

Looks modern or sci-fi-ish to me.
