So I have not played a Paradox game since EU1. What should I start with?

    Victoria I
    Victoria II
    East India Company
    Crusader kings
    EU2 + Expansions/Mods
    EU3 + Expansions/Mods

I hear decent things about all these games. What do you think is the best to get me back in the grove?

EU3 + Expansion/Mods since a) it is the most complete and b) it is the most accessible. Luckily with Paradox games, accessibility does not equate to being a retard. I enjoy Victoria the most (VicII just got a patch that helps a lot) but it also has the largest learning curve. Then again, if you aren't an idiot you should be able to pick it up with a little bit of effort. There's a new expac coming out for EU3 which should cap the series off nicely.

I dunno about EU3 Mods. Magna Mundi, the best and only mod you need imo is not for beginners.

I prefer my Paradox games with hordes of historical events so EUII + AGCEEP works for me. Haven't played EUIII but the ugly new map and completely random events (that often seem to make little sense, i.e aristocrats still demanding shit in a fully plebeian controlled state) turns me away. Though national ideas and the like look cool.
