Not surprised. And I doubt in the end it would be a good DLC. To make a solid procedurally generated content you need to make whole new game.

You'd think veterans would realise that being too ambitious is not healthy for working on a big RPG with medium teams, but they fell into same hole again.
Owlcat lead: hey can we make like awesome procedurally generated dungeon
    devs: easy
    months later
devs: oh shit, we agreed to do what?

DLC release: you go into red room with fire beetles, or green room with green beetles.

and with their tools at this point they could easily just make another Durlag Tower or Watcher's Keep instead. bah!

Well, the possibly good thing about the procedurally generated dungeon DLC delay is that Owlcat never did anything like that before so who knows? They might approach the concept with an entirely fresh perspective and actually make it good... or terrible. The idea itself is not terrible when you think about it. I mean, there are some pretty decent roguelikes out there. So why not transfer the more successful formulas of these roguellkes into AD&D/PnP PC sim? Stone Soup was actually kind of fun, what little I played of it. So taking extra time to meet QA could be a good thing. I'm hoping that at the very least we get a big beautiful rainbow flag out of this that keeps us dazzled with color if not substance.

Great elders of the Codex, discussions around this game left me with some questions about the game. Help me settle my wizards' specializations:

Is this an exhaustive list of arcane spells in game so far? https://pathfinderkingmaker.gamepedia.com/Wizard/Sorcerer_spells

How broken is sneak attack supposed to be in comparison with PnP?

Do shadow spells rely only on Illusion DCs or do they also use Evocation and Conjuration when applicable?

How useful is Persuasion on the main character? I've been meaning to play a wizard and am wondering if I should care to bump his persuasion up at all, be it via feats / familiar or even the Enchantment specialization.

Can you memorize lower level spells on higher spell slots?

I've been meaning to make a party Diviner with full cast progression and those beautiful specialist skills but sneak attack on the side via multiple memorizations of extended Sense Vitals. Was wondering how useful that would be on a scale of 1 to 10. Plus, dunno if there's been any new spells since they included Foresight and Icy Prison.

No, Owlcat added a bunch of pit-based conjuration spells that I don't see on there.

I would say sneak attack is pretty broken. This game makes it very easy to flank someone so sneak attack is almost always up and the mobs don't really try to get out of being flanked. That being said, some mobs are immune to sneak attack.

I think it is just illusion, see here.

Persuasion is pretty useful to have on your main character but not game-breaking. You could probably do a skill focus persuasion feat and not sweat it too much as a wizard.

Can you memorize lower level spells on higher spell slots?
    If you metamagic them, yes.

Heighten Spell metamagic is in the game, so you can use as high slots, as you wish (and boost the DCs doing so).

Diviner has pretty cool abilities, but the spells are next to noexistant. You would be wasting A LOT of bonus slots with them.

Sense Vitals... well, it's a short lived buff and your typical wizard can't hit the broad side of a barn. An Arcane Trickster could have some use from that... or an Eldritch Knight. A traditional Wizard? Not much.

Sense Vitals would be excellent if the game's approach wasn't to throw endless amounts of trash mobs at you. I still think it's great on certain characters for boss fights, but it's not the omgwtfbbq spell I thought it was when I first saw it. The duration is just too short.

As for the post-poning of the DLC, it's great news. Owlcat might actually be learning from their mistakes.

I would love a static dungeon with interesting (tactical) rooms, but random enemies. You could build entire strategies around how you tackle certain rooms, and some fights are cakewalks because that death trap room has chickens for one guy, then a nightmare because it has blue dragons for another guy.

Yeah I don't know how interesting a randomized dungeon could be for a game like this. Its all about the beastiary and the encounter design after all. And like Shadenaut said, a Durlag's Tower scenario would be ideal. I'm mostly just hoping that it ends up coming with even more CC options.

It applies to AOE only when you have Arcane Trickster level 10 ability Surprise Spells. Without it, only to things with attack roll, like Ray spells or Snowball.

Like Daidre wrote, only if you're a level 10 Trickster.

I fully agree. But it's kinda win for me. I have next-to-none interest in 2nd and 3rd DLCs, so I'll save some cash (well, Feral Wings are nice, but I already finished my Vivi playtrough... the DLC falcata pretty great, but falcatas look... puny and I've discovered some cool synergies with awesome-looking bastard swords, so no biggie).

Still kinda bummed we won't get a Durlag's Tower, and instead get random dungeons which I hate outside of roguelikes. Btw, did they fix endgame?

We sorta got minidurlag, in Varnhold DLC.

Endgame depends on what you want fixed. if you mean is it fun now or not, then more a no than yes

Yeah, I mean engagement/fun factor. It's a shame. Maybe they should've concentrated on fixing endgame or the last DLC being endgame oriented to try to fix it a bit. I would've been disappointed had I gotten the season pass as well, only Varnhold seems worth it or not underwhelming. Eh, afaik the base game itself is already huge enough.

They seem to change encounters and add new monsters all around the game though. Last chapters as well. Probably was done with Varnhold DLC.

There are some fairly OP items in the final portion of their quest. Mostly geared towards the Kineticist class, AFAIR.
Two items with Fire Immunity (boots and necky I think), one with some stat boosts, one ring to augment Kineticist healing, one ring to augment damage, high end version of Kineticist diadem.

I, for one, am really looking forward to the pseudo-roguelike mode because I am getting burned out on the main game. I just got coronated and I seem to have a choice between spending one in-year game exploring the map for things I haven't done yet or pressing the kingdom stat rank-up button 24 times. I really don't understand the point of setting up a reward system which incentivizes not actually playing the game. Why not reward the player for completing quests or slaying monsters instead of sitting on the throne pulling levers like a pensioner at a slot machine?

Even if I spent all of the remaining in-game time until the end of the chapter pulling the "work with advisor X to increase Kingdom Rank Y" levers, not only would that preclude exploring since you can't do anything else during that two weeks, I think that still might not be enough time to max all the stats out, depending on how high the rank scale goes.

Well, you get plenty of time between act IV and V and then in Act VI prior to final Ancient Curse.

Incorrect about the latter, though most of it is lousy and/or Eder-focused.
