The Intimidate check to demoralize an enemy works almost exactly like in PnP (the difficulty class to beat to win the check is identical). The only difference is that, in PnP, successive checks against the same enemy have an higher DC.

Oreads can intimidate too. While the -2 to CHA looks bad. It will be easy to mitigate through feats and accessories. Hell, all you really need is Intimidating Prowess and you're good. The real problem is whether or not it will be worth to give up Human's extra feat. I guess it will depend on how much I like the race.

 

For those who want to know why Kitsune, the silent majority are voting all the sudden -> Pathfinder portal had notified them. Therefore, rats only won in all other polls due to people basically exiting there, able to vote and see the poll.

 

Always annoyed me how low the DC was for players on the tabletop. Even a character with a high wisdom score is still going to fail a lot against an enemy with a decent (not even great) intimidate score.

 

By the time I receive my password reset email, the link has become too old, hence I can never log in.

 

It's like playing patty cake patty cake with Owlcat. Hang in there. Eventually it'll work.

 

I've just pressed the button several times. After one of them I've got the link, and the rest were coming for, like, an hour.

I get an unknown error when trying to log in, and the log in via email option doesn't do anything. These new forums are worse than the old.

I reiterate: Ratfolk's only notable ability is sharing the square of another ratfolk. That's garbage in a game without squares.

 

I managed to log in and pinged that Mordheim guy to give me my gun and badge.

 

Yes, in PnP it's annoying because you can easily succeed against enemies that are stronger than you and shouldn't be easily intimidated. In Kingmaker it doesn't bother me that much because there's no way I'm playing without Dirge of Doom active 24/7.

 

There are alternate traits. Most noticeable epic trait for solo runs:
Cornered Fury: Ratfolk can fight viciously when cut off from friends and allies. Whenever a ratfolk with this racial trait is reduced to half or fewer of his hit points, and has no conscious ally within 30 feet, he gains a +2 racial bonus on melee attack rolls and to Armor Class. This racial trait replaces swarming.

 

I remember one AP I took the fearless rage power (immune to shaken and frightened) on my barbarian, purely because the GM kept throwing enemies with dazzling display at us. Like literally every other combat he had an enemy with dazzling display.

 

Now lets compare this to the shape-shifting which does exactly jack shit and serve no purpose but to I ques ?????? well I don't know. FOX WITH SWORD MAN! I just don't see it that shape-shifting can affect game anyway, maybe 1-2 dialog tops. In other words gimmick that good on PnP that wont translate to game. Alternate traits for fox are meh too.

 

I wonder if Owlcats - unintentionally - created another swarm-like gateway. This time not against functionally illiterate Westerners, but against ADHD zoomers.

It took me about 12 hours to vote. I have written nothing to the forum support, no "pings", no messages. I pressed several links several times, got my activation email (and then 3 more), logged in - and waited. They assigned the badge in, like, 1-2 hours. Then I browsed some topics, joined the group of Kitsune supporters and closed the forum for good. I was going to wait until the next day, but decided to check before going to bed - and got my vote.

So may be don't expect something to always work momentarily? May be remember what you were doing an hour ago? May be concentrate on a goal for more than 2 minutes? Something like that?

 

As an ADHD zoomer I never had and thouble with the swarm. It just makes logical fucking sense that you can't defeat hundreds of bugs with a bloody sword.
People seem to treat PF:KM as a hack and slash sometimes and expect to just be able to cut through any enemy without thinking about it.

 

Probably you have some functional literacy as those evil 1%-ers do.

Also, their newspost about the vote says "message Mordheim" but when you go to your messages section in your profile, there is no UI for writing a new message.

 

I see some whining of people who cannot repeat the same action 3-4 times. And who expect any result to be delivered right now.

 

TBH what this feels like is, programmers managing tasks, someone says "we need to set up this forum with badges, and make a custom badge be added to backer profiles", and someone else saying, aah, it's web shit, how complex can it be. And then someone taking the task as something to do besides his other work on the game.

 

Well, I see it from a different angle.

Adding backers is a one-time task (no matter how many of them are), so they probably have not automated it well enough. I suspect they have some scripts, but those scripts might require manual launch or at least human monitoring. With the vote the demand increased sharply, which they could have underestimated, so may be some ad-hoc solutions are devloped and deployed even now.

 

I mean there is literally a 3rd party option called Backerkit for this kind of stuff (including for voting stuff, and as you need to use the Backerkit portal to confirm your pledge anyway it ensures people who pledged will vote). Everybody and their mother use Backerkit. The fact that Owlcat is trying to do everything by themselves including making a portal and then having an inefficient forum registration system and voting system honestly is just plan stupid.

I guess they save several hundreds of dollars I guess by doing it themselves?

EDIT: they actually saved at least 40k USD I guess by not using Backerkit, it is actually quite expensive:

2% of campaign funds + 5% of funds raised in BackerKit + $199 setup fee

or

3% of campaign funds + 0% of funds raised in BackerKit + $199 setup fee

Considering the campaign made 2 million USD that's at least 40k USD
