So, this thread is dead along with the game (as FreeKaner would say). Has anyone tried the new mega boss oooooor?

Few months ago, a cloaked figure enters the office of Feargus Urquhart.

- Agent Infinitron?

- Reporting for duty, sir!

- Deadfire has failed. We need you to assist us with your guerilla marketing skills.

- I already have a plan, sir. I shall split all Deadfire content into tiny threads to create an illusion that there's huge interest and following.

- That sounds brilliant, Agent Infinitron. Here is your bag of filthy corporate gold.

Fast forward to current date, a cloaked figure enters the office again.

- Agent Infinitron, what happened?

- Sir, I have made too many threads and nobody can keep track of them all.

- You have failed me for the last time, Agent Infinitron.

The megaboss is annoying, it splits when you kill it and the two halves can reform into the original boss with full health. It's a cool mechanic but man it turns into a long autoattackfest. You have to bring a cipher along to cast Brilliant as often as they can

I switched to P:KM and probably won't touch Dumpsterfire again until the GotY edition, Belranga wasn't hot enough to make me think the ooze is any good.

Brilliant is retarded as fuck, whoever thought of that needs to be shot. Breaks ciphers and long fights, was even worse when priests had it in an AoE.

Plenty of good games to play right now. I beat Deadfire at launch, but there's no reason to jump back into it again until the Forgotten Sanctum DLC comes out.

ooze fight spoilers

interrupts MvP (and Brilliant, for refilling casts so I could cast like 30) for this fight. Missing a merge is heart breaking, the first two Ooze sizes have ridiculously high HP. Symbiote debuff was interesting, but when I realised interrupts were important for merge I also made it a priority to interrupt that cast, so didn't really see it in my kill run.

Sanctum when?

When you search for "deadfire" on youtube it doesn't show deadfire anymore. A game called Fortnite swallowed it, it seems.

"factional and interpersonal relationships" sounds interesting, but then I imagine the characters and their relationships I saw demonstrated in Deadfire, and I go "No, thanks!"

Pathfinder: Wrath
Dizzyingly complicated and screen-glueingly interesting interpersonal relationships like "Hi, I take it up the butt! Oh, and my name is Tekehu".

I decided on the general spiritual/supernatural/divine focus for the first two games pretty early on.

The state of Sawyer.

The Pillars TTRPG campaign I’m running has nothing to do with reincarnation or the gods. It’s about agents of Minoletta running around and investigating rogue wizards.

Why wasn't this done in dumpsterfire instead?

Realizing that the relationship system is superflous garbage made me enjoy the sidekicks a lot more.

Prompted by this, I can't stop regretting the wasted potential of the relationship system. If it only had proper writers to take advantage of it. Lesson to take - no point in developing systems if your game won't be making use of them (not that this is news), and every system you add carries with it expectations for reactivity, expectations the players will have of the game.

I'm playing Fallout now and I have a more interesting relashionship with Tandi than I'll ever have with Xoti. The few lines that Tandi has do much more to present her as a character, and the rest is up to the player's imagination. Advantages of this approach - it adapts to the player because it's in his head, it involves the player into the RPG because he is constructing content on the fly, and lastly, it has zero cost.

Sure, you can't easily turn it into a Fig stretch goal.

So, this Sanctum is going to be final DLC?
Looking for a first playthrough but want to wait until everything is out.

Is there any reason to import previous character?
If you're going from the scratch, I understand that you're getting some kind of questionnaire of choices done in PoE1?

Not sure if I need to finish PoE again, if you can just pick the whatever is needed at the start.
Then again, it would be good to refresh what the fuck the main plot was about, as I can't remember shit. After finishing the game twice : |

So the first dividends is rolling ouy apparently
https://www.reddit.com/r/projectete...irst_dividend_recieve_for_poe2_fig_investing/

It is basically flopping and investors basically dont get any data, figures whatsoever.

Fig is ok if you are a backer, investing however is you just bamboozled by feargus and tim schafer.

Some guy there

Yeah, that's really the question. By my calculations from the numbers in the SEC filing they've done about 125k full price unit sales. Given there's both higher tier versions and sale events it's probably true that the sales were somewhere in the 100-150k range, plus then another 30k or so from the backer copies. That's quite low.

:slamdunk:

needs to be replaced with Dumpsterfire.jpg
