Or you could put on heavy armor, cast a spell for 3 seconds and then stand around for 6 seconds doing nothing.

I have my first DPS graph for my attribute system from my associate Matt516 (making him do the hard work for me ;)) and once I have the others I will start putting my ideas together in a thread and make a video.

Of course, it's only the first of many degenerate things PoE's gonna encourage you to do.

Probably because naked people require more representation in video games.
They are getting oppressed by too many half-naked and fully clothed cis scums.

Pick any two of these for ranged-focus archetypes:

    1. as survivable as tissue paper
    2. near-immobile when on the attack to curtail kiting
    3. mediocre at dealing damage

All three at once are will render ranged archetypes unplayable. A glass cannon has 1 and 2 but would deal fantastic burst damage, nice and tactical too since you'd need to make sure you're positioned properly and ready to move after. A "strafer" would have 1 and 3, can move but damage isn't great since total avoidance is (in theory) still superior to being on the frontlines in heavy armor/with protective buffs. A "skirmisher" would do mediocre damage and have to dig in to go on the attack, but is well-protected. Advantage over melee is that they start dealing damage a round or two before the enemy reaches the frontlines.

Of course, this is a gross oversimplification in many ways, since protection/damage/mobility aren't boolean values, and special abilities/utility must also be taken into account. We do know however that Sawyer has already chosen mediocre ranged damage, and from what people have been saying ITT, I'm also inclined to believe they're going with tissue paper survivability.

So, I'm not sure how he plans to curtail kiting exactly.

    Mediocre BOW damage

    Arbalests and Guns are wtfpwnage.

I've already made a suggestion to stop kiting / Josh's replies, and I posted it earlier in this thread.

    Strafers and glass cannons, then?

The main thing preventing kiting is that a full party of strafers (or even a majority) would get crushed by any decent enemy groups, especially versus highly mobile or tough monsters... else not be able to actually take down said enemy group.

Even if they could, if someone really wants to play the game spending 3x as long plinking away and kiting every encounter, that's their choice and a clearly suboptimal one.

Let's see now, complaining that no one gets your incredibly lame joke; demanding that people stop discussing things you don't like (although the discussion had already changed, so I suppose you're complaining just to complain); dragging your day-old grudge from the D:OS thread over here in the form of a completely off-topic, passive-aggressive jibe involving an entirely different game; holding pathetic Internet forum grudges to begin with; and double-posting.

Yeah I pointed that out, enemies above four usually solves the issue initially as well as size of navmesh around the encounter, and speed of enemies and all that stuff.

I don't think so. CS:GO feels like a console game to me and the mouse input system is horribly laggy. I don't even really like CS:S (I'm a CS1.5/1.6 guy) but I would rather play that any day over CS:Go

Dude since you're the expert round these parts, I wish to play a good new pretty SP shooter. Is there any? No fucking crisis or CoD or FarCock. I want to shoot people in the face. What are the alternatives these days? Something with 9 guns and a progression from a knife to a BFG

    Nothing

I played competitive multiplayer FPS, haven't played any FPS single player since Call of Duty 1. Can't really help ya there bud. Used to enjoy UT2004 SP though, but that's not a campaign, it's just progression against bots.

Yea, but don't worry, your melee dudes too, all but the tanks :)

As a side note, my current "testing party", after having survived some crazy shitspitting insta-kill crazyness with armor equivalent to modern tanks, now finds itself without any camping supplies left and none whatsoever anywhere in the world/merchants/etc.
How anyone can wrap around a good "gameplay" logic that makes "running full speed across empty maps to zone, loading zone, running full speed across empty maps to zone, loading zone (x2+), click on rent room button, then do the whole running and loading zone to get back into the action" is beyond me. Couple hours in and already using a save game editor to avoid sheer frustration with that.
