I wish I tried more strategies before I used the resolve option. It just felt like cheating, and I was not fully satisfied with it. My party revolved around my Priest and Wizard doing the heavy lifting, and the boulders and the teleporting spidermen rained on my parade.

    Hi.

Did you fight them BOTH Maculo?

My encounter with them was at night and the little story board description of Llengrath flying in was an omg moment but then when it cut back to the area and I saw the green dragon with its glowing eyes, horns and body then the second one rumbles the screen and appears that was my omg Omg OMG! moment too! I play the game with the conversation skill option display turned off so I just picked what sounded best and flowed through the dialog with Llengrath all nervous with her two dragons sniffing the air and chomping their mouths and came to an agreement about the secret we would both keep. There was even a dialog mention from one of the dragons about Falanroed and how it had heard what I did for the dragon in Caed Nua.

My character is in awe of dragons and their power so I never killed any of them and I hope helping the dragon in Caed Nua escape and explore Eora as Falanroed plays a part in Deadfire. The end-game slide mentions she boards a ship in Road's End with an adra talisman glowing about her neck so maybe she sails to Deadfire!

    Thanks,
    Randal

Was there an option to fight just one or no dragon(s)? Damn, I had no clue.

Yes, I managed to kill Llengrath and both dragons on PotD. Llengrath was the easy part. In contrast, the two dragons felt like a slugfest, with a lot triage in between (revive and Priest heals). Usually, I could cheese most encounters with just my Priest, but in took Hiravias' storm stun/tornado and Citzal's lance to take them down.

Edit: To give a more detailed breakdown, I opened with: Food > Litany Against Affliction > Minor Avator > Holy Storm > Stack 2-3 Shining Beacons (Shining beacon stacks) >Cleansing Flame (increases DoT damage, so even more Shining Beacon Damage). This combined with Pallengina's Sworn Foe kills Llengrath and many of the minor minions quickly. Afterwards, I followed up with Crown of the Faithful, revive, and heals where necessary to survive against the dragons. Meanwhile, Hiravias spams the tornado storm at the flying drake/Llengrath, plus the AoE storm with stun to reduce the damage taken from the drakes. My Wizard likely did most of the damage against the dragons with citzal's lance.

You did, you bought the base game.
You wouldn't have given money to people who underdeliver, however, if you bought the white march.

We got them all except Cadegund. Bigger question is what those zombies and tentacles were meant to be.

I kind a of hope not. I am dreading the idea of a pirate-accent furry joining my group. I will take another dwarf or elf companion, just no more orlans.

Probably concept art for the the soulless wyches and the blights.

edit: I just noticed the black strands connecting to the back of each zombie. Maybe the zombies were meant to be controlled akin to puppets string? That would be a strange take on the hollowborn storyline though, with essentially a zombie army.

We still don't know anything about the sixth companion, right? I mean, we also know nothing about the new aumaua and orlan, but at least we've seen them.

Well, that's for Deadfire. But we've got some ominous tentacles in the original PoE poster as well. Maybe this has been hentai all along?

Bioware/CD Projeckt have created "romance" standards AA developers seem unwilling to compete with. They might toy with the idea during development but it will be one of the first things excised from the script once the inevitable delays start.

At this point, I doubt even Divinity Original Sin 2 will have them despite them being a stretch goal during the KickStarter.

Meh. At this point I guess I don't care. It is clearly important for some people though, for some reason, given how often people ask about romances like they genuinely need them in the game. I think in almost every update they released so far there were people asking about romances, and they're not dismissing these questions anymore, so it could possibly happen.

If so I'll probably just not pursue any romance because I rarely, if ever, feel engaged with that stuff but if it's THAT important to other people then I guess let them have romances lol.

I'm never going to advocate for romances in RPGs as such but the staunch asexuality of the last pass of KickStarter releases isn't working for me either.

It seemed like when Avellone was writing games (Fallout 2, PS:T, and Kotor II) this issue never existed.

Romancetards would create a major shitstorm. People already complain about the day/night cycles, that would be 10x worse.

I didn't think Pillars was too bad on that. Durance and Hiravias in particular stood out as being real, warm-blooded characters.

Romance is obviously more important than a feature that could dramatically enhance the game if it was implemented.

They've hinted several times that they plan on doing some sort of deeper character relationship thing in this game. Saving it for an end of campaign stretch goal to bilk the romance fans?

Lots of ways to do "deeper character relationship". How deep can a friendship/camaraderie go before it turns into "romance".

I don't like it when it necessarily has to turn into romance. There's no deeper character relationship that isn't romance. You pursue knowing more about that character but when you refuse their romance then there's nothing left, because the romance was the one thing.
