I can bet that "TotSC-style expansion" will turn out to be as much of deceptive namedropping as "capturing the feel of the Infinity Engine games" was.

I guess it's pretty deceptive to call it a TOtSC-style expansion considering TotSC didn't add new companions.

Well, the funny thing about PoE is that its haters have finished the game more times and like to talk about the game more than its fanboys.
Thanks for admitting that the only way to like PoE is to not play it.

Pillars of Eternity 2: Deadfire

Get ready to leave Pallegina and the non-human companions behind, it's time for the white man to march!

Coming later this year, the two-part expansion to the acclaimed old-school roleplaying game Pillars of Eternity takes players on a journey where the Meadow Folk of the Dyrwood have finally had enough of being a minority in their own country.

"Historically, conflicts have almost always been about race", lead designer Josh Sawyer says. "In medieval Europe, the white people often found themselves warring against Arabs and Turks, with the non-whites more often than not being the aggressor. When the white people fought each other, it was mostly the result of schemes by the Jewish populations."

Obsidian CEO Feargus Urquhart is likewise enthusiastic about representing White Pride in gaming. "One of the best things about being an independent developer, is that there is zero influence from Jewish corporations. We get to pick and choose who we want to work with. We are very passionate about fighting for the survival of the white race in any way that we can, and we can't wait to get this expansion out for you guys to play."

Obsidian once again bungles PR, leaving Josh to explain to his Something Awful pals that this xpack definitely isn't just another dungeon crawl.

The expansion isn't a mega dungeon or mini-mega dungeon or anything like that.

You'd think this would be something they'd announce on their near-worthless twitter account but nope

And on badgame

none of the expansion material was pre-made. making the content available before the end of the game (like tales of the sword coast and heart of winter) means that players can use content from the expansion (including companions) both in the end game (if players are already close to it) or for much more of the main game on replays. making a post endgame expansion means that only people who have completed the main game and want to continue playing with their endgame parties can make use of it.

This is what I get for turning on the stream early. Some random Russian girl who appears to have dipped her face in botox.

Expansion pack will use optional level scaling, choose if you want to scale it, because you can enter it any moment in the game.

Interesting, they're implementing a sort of pseudo-multiclassing. Non-Rogue classes can get a weak Sneak Attack, etc.

Well, that was a pretty effective demo for just 7 minutes. :salute:

It got pretty awkward when that presenter claimed he sank 50 hours in the game and said his party was at level 15.

Anticipating a negative reaction to ice ogres/ice beetles/snow trolls/other reskins. :M

I'm glad Josh finally listened by allowing me to see exactly how much hit-chance I have, instead of having to do the math in my head.

Multiclass talents (as opposed to multiclassing) and optional level scaling are pretty good. Looking forward to certain posters going in and complaining that everything's too easy because they refuse to scale the levels.

Since he's in PR mode now, shouldn't we contact him for an interview?
