Yeah, especially after the EPIC failure the Xbox was on Japan, I can see they focusing on their "home market".

The ironic thing is that the Xbawks outsold the PS3 in thirdworld countries precisely due to piracy, since it tooks years to crack the PS3...

Xbox 720 Subsidized: $299 + $15 * 24 = $659
Xbox 720 Unsubsidized: $499 + $60 * 2 = $620 (provided they're not gonna increase the annual Gold membership from $60)

That, combined with $100 games, I think you can ascertain where this is going...

idiots in the US can not understand interest and how buying something cheap now, but paying later, ends up costing them a shit ton more in the long run. That is how rent-to-own business keep in business, by charging the idiots 2-3x the cost of stuff over time. Basically, the Ps4 has something that will perform onpar with an i3. Pretty impressive really. Better than most people were thinking. And, it takes almost no power to do it.

Fake edit: those benchmarks seems suspicious. The i3 is listed as i686 while the Jaguar is listed as x86_64, does that mean they were running the i3 in 32 bit mode? It's also some bullshit synthetic benchmark instead of a real world application.

So, the Jaguar, fully utilizing all four cores, fares slightly worse than a low-end i3 from two years ago? Sounds about right. Frankly, it sounds like a great chip for netbooks and low-end laptops with its low power consumption and good performance for the price, and having four relatively weak cores would do well for general purpose desktop computing, where you're quite likely to have a lot of stuff running simultaneously. But for gaming? The PS4 is supposed to have an 8-core version clocked at 1600 MHz, right? Fat chance games will make use of more than two.
