I know, I've been playing his games for years, I'm just wondering how making an Ipad port is worth it and making an Adroid port isn't.You do know that Vogel is a Mac guy, right? He used to make games Macintosh first.
https://www.makeuseof.com/tag/piracy-android-how-bad-is-it-really/"interesting fact: Only 5% of Monument Valley installs on Android are paid for. 40% on iOS. "
"Some may remember the case of Dead Trigger, a mobile game that debuted with a $0.99 price tag on both Android and iOS. After being hit by such an unbelievably high piracy rate, the developers had no choice but to make the Android version free."
This never made sense to me. Even if they pirate 90% of the stuff on Android, he would get 10% legit sales. But if the doesn't port it, he will get 0%. Nobody will buy an Ipad just to play this game. The only reason for not putting it on Android I can think of is that it would took more resources than the 10% sales would cover.I know, I've been playing his games for years, I'm just wondering how making an Ipad port is worth it and making an Adroid port isn't.You do know that Vogel is a Mac guy, right? Hah, I recently talked about this in a discussion of Six Ages' potential release platforms. Basically:
Android apps get pirated to an insane degree, compared to iOS apps' "way way less insane amount of piracy".
It's likely over 90% of all app users on Android pirated the app. (obviously this varies by app and year and so on, but there's a trend)

He'll have my money if he does an innovative game that plays with the same strengths Geneforge had: good setting, reactivity, somewhat enjoyable moral dilemmas. I am not paying for Bioware lite, nor for self-inserts, nor for crappy killtheratathon. Earn my money, and not thanks to Steam that gave him free visibility.
Vogel said:We invite you to escape into the all-new world of Queen's Wish. This will hopefully be an all-new trilogy in a a unique and fascinating setting, which you will be free to remake to your liking.
You are the youngest child of Queen Sharyn, the absolute leader of the Empire of Haven. While your older siblings have grabbed fame and power, you have slid by in a life of quiet luxury. Until now.
Your mother has decided to force power upon you and send you out into the world. Your new home: The wild, war-torn land of Sacramentum. There was once a successful Haven colony there. It then fell apart, for reasons not entirely clear.
To win the Queen's favor, you must go to Sacramentum and rebuild Haven's colony. But will you? Will you crush the nations of Sacramentum and expand Haven? Make peace with them and earn a place in their lands? Or just try to escape from your mother and homeland?

Wrong. It looks a lot worse. So, his new game still looks absolutely revolting, much like every other game he ever produced.
We plan to have Sacramentum be settled by three different nations, each with their own culture, beliefs, problems, and tendency to violence. We would like to add another, an alien underworld nation shrouded in mystery.
VOGEEEEEEEEEL!

Such a stupid thing to say, he torpedoed in just two words one of his greatest assets, that is, the chance of presenting himself as the scrappy underdog (who of course is given a pass for many of his shortcomings). You are not supposed to call yourself a "living legend", Jeff. Have someone else do it, ffs.
If it is, it's not a very wise move to replicate it in a Kickstarter pitch, where the aim is to recruit a lot of new fans (who won't of course know about your autistic in-jokes).The living legend thing is sort of a long-running joke I think: http://www.rpgcodex.net/article.php?id=9049
„I am a living legend“
Man, Vogel is like the omega-cuck version of Cleve without the humor and auto-irony.
I've read car insurance advertisements that had more enthusiasm in them than this.
