To be frank, the current campaign looks pretty bleak, and it is a shame to see project like this go wasted. What are your future plan if the worst happen? Will you do research on game promotion? Study the campaign marketing proccess? Mayne take a look at Jedi Master Radek advice ar promoting crowdfunding?

I speak of this because i really love the idea and dont want it sink. Well i guess i could rob a bank ans donate ungodly amount of money

Questions for the Demiurgos devs about the game:

-In what exact ways (if you have to stay vague then in what capacity) will voting for different ideologies (Liberalism,Socialism,Imperialism) on Kickstarter influence world in final game? You said our votes will influence one of 3 social structures. Will it be chosen on random or the one that wins majority/ the most votes will be influenced in a way most backers voted? If commie scums win will we be greeted on every corner with Marx's statues as Zeus and will our inventory be shared with other npcs or will it be less in your face? Also what happens if none of 3 competing ideologies have majority (51% at least)? Will then simply ideology with most votes prevail? Also great idea to further involve current backers and attract new. Who got idea to name different lvls of pledges according to different political ideologies? That was also an awesome idea!

-Will there be character creation? I know we have name and backstory (don't mind it at all) but will we be able to customize our hero?

-How will traversing distance work in practice? Will it essentially work like traveling on world map in Fallout 1/2,POE: Deadfire, Dragon Age:Origins etc.?

-Will there be random encounters during our travel from spot A to spot B like bunch of socialists helping poor Persian refugees washing on beaches of Greece in boats (ignore Persians being fully armed men and coming in militarry vessels) demand money and sexual services from us for weary, tired Persian refugees and if we refuse they attack us or we sabotage Persian boats etc.?

- Regarding labyrinths, if our doggo manages to escape local 'Minothaur' but Minothaur chases him all the way to entrance, will Minothaur leave his labyrinth and attack us? Good doggo. Oh, fuck!!!

- You said: Forms of narcotics can be acquired; legal or illegal. Does this game feature crime system where you will be arrested or have problems if you're caught stealing, in possesion of illegal stuff (what is legal in Athenai could be illegal in Sparta and vice versa), for trespassing etc.?

-Can we get a promise (though so far we have no reason to belive otherwise) that all the political and philosophical stuff will be handled in such a way that even Sawyer would give it the balanced seal of approval?*
:balance::balance::balance::balance::balance:

*You will challenge everyone's view, while giving to all 3 ideologies balanced portray in the start with both pros and cons (some unexpected). From that point onward it will be on players to reach their conclusion and they won't be treated as ebil monsters by entire game (it makes sense to be treated by some npcs like that while praised by others etc.) for making their choices. It won't be open propaganda for any particular system or ideology. It will be for all of them.

How do you plan to mix ancient Hellenic social structures with 19th century means of production? In other words, how much of classical antiquity are you keeping? It's hard to imagine ancient ideas about labor--very negative--meshing with the industrial revolution. Spartan aristocratic collectivism really doesn't map onto modern socialism either; even the Soviets had to pretend they were fighting for the little guy. Will the helots be wage slaves rather than chattel slaves (and without helots, what's the point?).

How much Nietzsche can we expect?

Just a quick reminder. There is not only one kind of socialism... Will happily talk about your questions.

In general, thanks for the good questions to all of you!

Thank you! Granted, socialism comes in many flavors, but they're all fundamentally egalitarian (at least in theory), aren't they? Big thumbs up if you make them Stalinists, though.

  • Can you say why you decided to use the name Leviathan?

  • What is your position within your group? (ie Programmer, Lead Programmer, Designer, etc.)

  • Can you give a quick idea of the type of rules systems you'll be using?

  • Besides English, what other translations are you planning?

  • Why exactly did you pick Greek history to shift or do whatever it is you did?

  • And speaking of which, can you give a better explanation of this concept that you're using? Not sure if it was the ESL, some meaning that was lost in translation or purposeful vagueness, (or perhaps stupidity on my part) but I found the explanation you gave on the Codex a bit... difficult to comprehend.

Those from the other thread were good aswell.

works at the same uni I work at, and we arranged for a Codex interview meeting this Tuesday.
Do you two know each other from before since you're both working at same university?

And few more questions for dev:

-What inspired you to make your first game the one like this? To put political and philosophical struggle (now more turbulent then ever in decades) in center of it?
-Did you receive any funds from German government or the fact that there were other options except socialism and you perhaps not meeting the 'diversity quota' ultimately made your game quite problematic in their eyes? In short what are your sources of funding this game and if Kickstarter fails to you have back up plan?
-Which rpg(s) or just video game(s) in past 5-10 years had a story and setting you found not to be standard shallow AAA drivel?
