Once played it, I don't even know which one was it. The planets are probably in the right position because I want to try again - my question is - which one should I pick (1,2,3?) or are they all the same?

All you need is Railroad Tycoon II Gold Edition.
    edit: No, it's Platinum.

I was considering it a while back: $4.99 on Steam, if you're feelin' legal.

I played the demo of the latest one (I think) a while back, maybe a year ago, and I thought it was pretty decent, never got round to buying it though for whatever reason. Good timekiller type game.

Also Mr. Wolf, off-topic but did you ever find those tunes from Saints Row? I gave up searching many moons ago but did you have any luck?

If latest is Sid Meier's Railroads, no, it's not decent. It's boring, has nice gfx and is good for about 10 hours.

Now I understand what you mean.

    RT3 - 3D SHIT!
    RT2 - 2D WIN!
They don't exist, we both (because somehow other people on the net didn't hear about them) made it up, so there is no hope... LIKE FUCK!

There is one place where you (I lost interest) can get the names of those tracks...

The end credits - scroll to 4:00. Those are the "other" tracks in game. If you still have the strenght... I wish you luck, I'm not even sure if you can buy/dl them.

I'm not sure if that's what I meant.
    In a nutshell: RT2=better gameplay

Only bad part about RT2 is that you can't build tunnels like in Transport Tycoon. Otherwise it's a cool game. Fairly challenging too especially if you try getting all the gold medals.

Don't listen to these naysayers. RT3 is fun, and while the transition to 3D does have some problems (placing railroads the way you want them sometimes is a pain), the fact that you can zoom in and see that choo-choo thing going amidst hills and forests is really fun.

The core gameplay is left more or less untouched. I recommend RT3.

RT2 is pretty good, but it found it got repetitive pretty soon. I dont like how formulaic these games got. Instead I would prefer something that combines sim and rpg elements with a grand strategy game and really epic campaigns.
