Why isn't your PC hooked up to the TV? I will never understand why people think a PC can't hook up to a consumer television. Boggles my mind why people think it doesn't work. All you have to do is plug the HDMI cable and boom, you no longer will ever have to hook up a console to the television; it has a PC now.
I do that with my notebook whenever I'm going to play some game.

Played the demo today. It was alright, don't know if I'm getting old and jaded but I was never really spooked. The atmosphere was done well, and the graphics is serviceable. Leon's face still doesn't mesh well with me (Claire is straight up an ugly mess), don't know what it is about the new technology/engine they are using, I saw the same with DMC characters, some look good while others seem... off.

Something is fucky with their mocap, I don't know what exactly is causing it, but it's definitely somewhere on that part of the production.

Was RE ever really scary, though? People say the RE1 remake is scary. but I was never scared playing it. It was a good game, though. Which was enough for me.

It had it's moment back then especially since the whole zombie trope wasn't overdone or relatively new in entertainment, it might have something to do with the fact that I played Silent Hill before RE.

Another win for why hand drawing is superior.

As much as I think this RE2 remake looks stupid and bad and Claire looks like an ugmo, just what is that comparison image supposed to prove? Yeah you can adjust a picture of a model in 8 minutes in photoshop. Are you also going to rescan, resculpt, reanimate the entire head in 8 minutes? These "look how much of an improvement I made in 4 seconds in photoshop" images are stupid. And even without those autistic nitpicks the right image just looks whorish, while Claire is supposed to be cute.

The right way to play a horror game is with headphones.

Same goes for games where sound design is crucial like Thief.

By the way I had to shoot one of the bitches that came through the window in the head 7 times before she died, what the fuck was that?

That's fairly normal and not sure why it would be a critisism. Any good survival horror game normally includes resource management and ammo is a luxury.

Now I haven't played the demo but a positive of the originals were how you'd have that choice between using your precious ammo on a zombie or deciding to just run to the next room and save ammo. If the game was 'realistic' and you could just one shot zombies and the survival aspect would be pointless.

In the original RE2 (also re1 and its remake) you need only 1-3 shoots to kill a zombie, and still you need to do a lot of resource management. In the RE2 remake it's more like the classic bullet sponge usually found in mediocre shooters.

If it's genuine bullet sponges that's a shame. That said I don't remember many zombies going down in one or two shots, I remember the ones where you'd shoot them a few times, they'd fall down and then get back up again and it would take at least another shot or two again.

original RE2 was chock full of ammunition. There were literally hundreds of pistol rounds lying everywhere.

Because I like using my PC at a table/desk, like a normal person. My coffee table is too low for ideal mouse and keyboard use. Windows and a lot of the programs also scale poorly to 4K. Also, I can't fap to porn in the living room.

That's all you had to say bro. No need to include the other reasons which were really just a front.

Steve gets a Kidney but I don't even get a tag.
i played the demo and i loved it. never played RE games before this.
i actually played one RE 5 in my friends xbox some years ago, but RE 2 demo is alot different. it's really more of an adventuer game with inventory and puzzles and shit instead of RE 5 which is just a TPS spolsion popamole.

playing on steam. i see RE 0 HD, RE 1 remake? . which one do i start with ?

i really love dismembering the zombies and let them crawl/wiggle like a cute worm. so helpless and cute <3

both Re1 remake and rezero are vastly different to RE2 demo.
But if you want to start the series anyway, start with RE remake. Despite being a prequel, RE Zero spoils some of the story parts from the other games.

I played the demo and liked it. Will definitely get the full game but not at release. There are still other RE games I haven't played yet.

I don't get the bitching about the zombies being bullet sponges. If you aim correctly (wait for the crosshair to be at its smallest point), it only takes 3-4 headshots to put them down.

Also, the graphics are good but not good enough to justify the requirements. I have a GTX 1080, and there were a lot of options I couldn't max out. Plus the aliasing is terrible, and the AA options blur the hell out of everything.

RE4 is the best actiony RE game. It was a trend-setter for all over-the-shoulder-camera shooters, and still the best of them.
RE5 is basically a clone of RE4, but with coop. It's a good coop shooter, but as a Resident Evil game it's OK at best.
6 is shit. Somehow devs managed to screw everything that was good in RE4.

Play them in this order:
Remake - 2 - 3 - 0 - Code veronica - 4 - 5 (if you have a friend to play with) - Revelations - Revelations 2 - 7.

RE4 might be the best of the entire series. I haven't played much of RE6, but I wasn't too impressed with what I saw. RE 0-3 are all good, but they use an old-school fixed camera view.

Thing is, they're all loosely connected so you're going to miss out on some story if you skip installments.

all except Code veronica, but it's easy to emulate. I suggest you to emulate RE2 and RE3 aswell, since PC versions are a bit wonky. Use Dreamcast versions.

No. RE2 (original) and RE3 aren't available on Steam. They did have PC ports way back in the day for Windows 95/98 but they were terrible.

You'll want to play the Nintendo Gamecube versions via emulator.

Also, RE Code Veronica was never released on PC in any form. You can play it on PS3 if you have one or use an emulator for the PS2 or Gamecube version.

Maybe memory fails me, but I think it depends also on the scenario/difficulty you choose.

No, I replayed A/B scenarios sometime during the last year on normal (played the GC version, nightmare/expert is only on the dreamcast and PC version apparently). Unless you have horrible aim or not using weapons optimally (for example, not using frag grenades as Claire against groups of 4 or more zombies) you are swimming in ammo after the first quarter or 1/3 of the game while killing everything in your path. Ammo is only a problem at the very beginning before you loot enough in the police station.

Now RE3 hard while killing Nemesis every time for the loot (the way to play the game IMO, just don't use the infinite ammo box which it gets you at the end, then it becomes easy mode), that definitely has ammo scarcity from what I remember. Also REmake. But RE2 just showers you with ammo across the whole game.
