There are three general types of thread that get made/posted to in the GRPG forum:

    1. Game Megathreads
    2. General talking points
    3. Database-like information threads

Currently, the Stickies in GRPG are all category 3, but it's a kind of a haphazard mix of informative stuff, with 2 of the threads even purporting to supply extremely similar information (both obscure RPG hunting threads) & another two which are just mod hunting threads, but for very specific games in exclusion over every other game that's ever had mods. You could even argue there's six very similar threads up there, all looking to focus on the obscure and, meanwhile, the regular non-sticky threads still have lots of similar threads that don't get stickied.

The way I see it currently is that the top of the regular forum is always going to be topped off by the megathreads of the games that are recently released, the stickies are the rarely posted to very dry threads and the talking points struggle to stay relevant in the sea of newly released game threads. Therefore:

Wouldn't it make more sense to have the currently released game megathreads as stickies.

Not only would this leave the regular forum threads a bit of leeway to get noticed, but would also act as a quick guide to those who want to quickly know what the latest released games are. Give each game like 3 to 6 months of sticky until they return to the masses.

This sounds a lot like work and I'm still exhausted after the effort I had to put into enabling https.

This is a pretty good idea actually.

Give me a day or so to implement.
