<blockquote>Albion, from Triangular Pixels,&nbsp; is a good looking blend of roguelike, cRPG and Tactics-like (for example: FF Tactics or Tactics Ogre) elements. It&rsquo;s developed on Java and playable via JWS.<br /><br />It had its first public release on the ARRP and looks pretty solid. They seem to be building on the basics and will evolve with character development and friendly towns from there. Theme is light and classic, yet it can be fun to play even in its current status.</blockquote>
    <p>Unfortunately this has nothing to do with the <a href="http://www.bluebyte.net/eng/products/albion/index.htm" target="_blank">furry sci-fi RPG</a> of the same name.</p>

I demand more Roguelike news in the future :incline:

That and, Albion's resemblance to another roguelike, Elona, is striking.

They're just using the same sprites (GPL, I guess).
I've seen them used in at least two other games.

Ugh. What's the point of creating a party-based roguelike if you can only control three characters?

http://www.incursion-roguelike.net/ Incursion also finally had an update to say things are moving, had kinda been moving, and are still a ways off with further mini-updates likely just to flow out from the Google Group instead of website updates until some really substantial stuff is afoot---like by somewhere in 2012.

    Incursion looks impressively complex.

It is, but the dev isn't much better than GRRM when it comes to updating his work. I've been pining for an update for years.

Game is lavishly detailed though. Every room you enter has it's own description and often lots of special attributes/effects like unstable footing, low ceilings, things to climb on, etc.
