Just once, I'd like to see a game that starts with the PC accidentally killing the Chosen One. That seems like quite a pickle.

I understand that, but that's another question, really, about 'the other stuff'.

I've always wanted an RPG where you can play as a religious figure/prophet. Not just a chosen warrior, but an actually prophet, going around spreading the word of God (or the Gods) and effectively creating a faith based around your teachings and stuff. It wouldn't be Jesus: The Business Sim, you'd never have to worry about how much followers you had versus revenue gained or whatever. The followers you gain become your party, and you can give them orders to spread out and send the Message. How will they convey the message is based on their stats (Faith, Morals, Rhetortic, Intelligence). People would try and challenge you, and you're responses would be based on your stats. If you go to a town that's stern in their beliefs and you try to persuade them, of course it will be harder and if you do persuade them, it will have a greater effect. Same with it you fail to persuade them, it'll just rile them up even more.

On the flip-side, you could play as a fiery warrior of your faith, urging people to take arms against the Infidels and kill all the non-believers. You'd still be preaching, but it'd be more fire and brimstone than peace and love. I think it's a great idea and I would do anything for a competent developer to do something with it.

I heard the Bard's Tale remake has something a bit like that. There are supposed to be a bunch of supposed "Chosen One"s that get killed off, and much laughter ensuing.

Naked Lunch: That's an excellent idea. Better copyright it before someone steals it.

Holy fucking shit. Best use of ragdoll physics ev4r. Weekend at Bernie's the game sounds fucking hot. I bet you could get the original cast to do voice acting for peanuts. :P

Mcarthy/Silverman would surely manage to grab some time off from their busy valet parking jobs for this.
