Exactly. Shit is an FPS. I'm seriously not sure why this is on here. This is not even a case of "what is an RPG?"ism. It's obviously not an RPG.

 

Because Codex is now the decline itself, that's why. Can't wait to vote new Ass Creed as 2016 goty, at least it has the same amount of rpg as FO4.

 

yeah if Fallout 4 is on list then i don't see reason why we should not include games like borderlands, assasins creed or borderlands.

1 or 2? Or both? I have this on my backlist since the translation, but didn't play it yet because it's Touhou(not my cup of tea).

 

2 is arguably the better place to start since it's more player-friendly, but 1 is equally good, too. Just be sure to play 2 on Hard since it prevents you from grinding (which is essential, since it makes boss fights properly balanced).

Touhou is pretty inane, but it's not like there are any dungeon crawlers with a story worth speaking of. So just play it for the mechanics/combat and you'll be fine.

For me, it has to be The Witcher 3. Other contenders are Shadowrun: Hong Kong, The Age of Decadence and Pillars of Eternity.

Witcher 3 will and probably should be the consensus pick. 2015 was a trash year overall but not much worse than most of the decade thus far.

To be honest, even though both games share the same faults (most glaring being combat), I would still vote for SitS, because it is an impressive effort for a team of two developers, whereas PoE had an entire studio of professionals with experience behind it.

 

My vote goes for SitS - it is very outstanding and extraordinary RPG. I think that considering that it was made by a 2-person studio, SitS deserves the top. Also the badass vampire ending Can't wait to see more vampires in the expansion.

 

AoD And TW3 will be super close. But AoD will win due to complete non linearity. Though it is safe to say both will be in top 10 of bestrpgs ever if we do it in next few years.

Next year Underail has #1 secured though. I didn't play it (even EE) but i just feel they are onto something great, dev team has right mindset from start and they just need to continue it.

Dark Souls 3 is the weird one. It has Miyazaki behind it but i think this will be the year when DS will get stale because of how fast they make new souls games. DS2 already had that problem but DS3 will be the one when it will hit it the most.

 

And this us why having nore posts in GD than gaming fora is not that bad of a thing.

 

It has looting system, character creation,inventory system, and quests that makes it a RPG. (A terrible RPG!)
