This review is longer than my thesis.

As for JRPG, I prefer Persona.

The original Touhou games are also pretty good. Easily one of my favorite game series and the reason why I got into manic shooters. I generally recommend them to anyone who can get past the shitty artstyle. And I don't mean shitty as in "it looks like anime".

Pretty good beginner games as well, a 1CC on Normal difficulty should be within reach of a newcomer to the genre, unlike most arcade shmups.

Never played any other games in this series - I know they're mostly scrolling shooters and arcade-like games, which is not something I'm particularly interested in - but the existence of the LoT games alone makes this franchise worthy in my eyes.

Thanks for the informative review, Suicidal. It helped me understand that I am not interested in the game (not that I was before). ありがとう .

You're welcome and thank you for expressing your lack of interest in a civil and polite manner. Not many people are capable of such a feat.

Don't mean to necro the thread, but I was curious if you or anyone else knows if these games are actually made by the same guy as Touhou Project or if it's just inspired by the shmups/fighting games. I've been a fan of the shmups for a long time, and then read this review and I'm pretty sure I'm going to be a fan of at least LoT2. But my lack of Japanese doesn't help with figuring these things out

Looking at screens, game for those who dream of anime underage girls.

You can find those here! lol

What pakoito said. Touhou gets obscene amount of all kinds of fan work for some reason.

Yeah and I can't comprehend what is about this franchise that attracts this sort of ultra dedicated weirdos. But it's a good thing it does, so we can get stuff like LoT from it.
