 Wat
Well, duh.
They require to read, think, and even, the horror, use your imagination. Today's society apparently doesn't have place for these things.
You can't excpect people using their brains while playing a game, we are not in the 90' any more.

I see that you used my description of Icewind Dale from last year. Wasn't there a better one to use? :)
Oddly enough, no. No one wanted to write about Icewind Dale I & II, and the few that did wrote very little.

and don't relate to the style of today's society...

Someone is butthurt he isn't rad enough for these games...

No one wanted to write about IWD because I clearly wrote the definitive word on those two.

Or maybe because they are overrated simplistic games, that have been surpassed by Knights of the Chalice, a game made by a single guy that doesn't like money. We'll never know...

Let me tell you about something called Art Direction....

I'd rather play IWD2 instead of KotC again despite the inconsistencies, because it has a much larger scope and more interesting writing.

Uh, let's not forget that the reason I wrote about IWD is because the Codex voted it in the top 10 the first time.

I would have added "Avernum: Escape from the Pit" for sure but that said, it's a great overview!

Just one little thing I would like to have there is html anchors for linking. Like you can click on the number of each posting in this thread to open the thread with this posting in the center.

I wanted to complain about baldur's gate being so high but I'm 5 pages late so I'm sure somebody has already done so.

I repeat: AP is a shitty TPS with shitty balance and shitty bugs....no problem in admitting these obvious defects...
But it's also an "RPG", not only an Action/Stealth based, and if "RPG = choices and consequences in a linear/non-linear context" (this is the shortest version, otherwise I need a boring Wall of Text) AP achieved the real goal of an RPG in a so original way that no one had ever do before (if we take a look to the historical evolution of this genre in the last years)...

I doubt anyone is denying that AP is an RPG, the question is rather if it is an 29/72 RPG.

Does this mean that "ALPHA PROTOCOL IS DAFFUCKING MASTERPIECE! THE CITIZEN KANE OF RPG!!! HURR DURR!!!" ? No...no need to be fanboy or hater here...
The rating does imply 'above average' (top 40%), which is fairly questionable. Of course we could argue endlessly about the exact position of about any title on that list, but at the end of the day AP sticks out because the justification given for the placement is so disagreeable.
Raw, you fucking imbecile, you can't even quote people properly.

If anything, Alpha Protocol should be higher
