I decided to do it, am already on page 5.

By the way, :argh: at all the people adding numbers in front of the titles or writing an essay after each title.

Will post the excel file here when done. Somebody else can then go through the list and add the genre to each game...

Wise words, wise words. It's slightly awkward to resupply for a whole week in this case though

True enough. Though you could always go to a nearby neighborhood store if you have any of these still open.

The original UFO: Enemy Unknown and XCOM are the same game, right? Which name is more official?

Same game. The confusion arises because yurups vs. US markets used different names (and box covers).

The preferred version to play right now is https://openxcom.org/

X-com is the 90's one, same as UFO: Enemy Unknown.
    XCOM was made by Firaxis.

How you're dealing with 3 different versions of Pirates!?

I will just assume that everyone meant the original UFO/X-Com if they wrote XCOM. Is OpenXcom a separate game or should it be counted with UFO/X-Com together?

And Pirates! is Pirates! - nobody specified which one they meant anyway.

Should be counted together, it is just a sourceport (with QoL adjustments and bug fixes).

I guess Microprose being an American company, X-COM: UFO Defense should be the official name, even if i use UFO Enemy unknown (European version's name).

Edit : After checking, Mythos Games, Gollop's company was Brit so i guess it's a tie ...

Except the Gollop-brothers are British, and the game was developed in England. And IIRC the devs came up with the name, not the publisher.

I counted UFO: Enemy Unknown, OpenXcom and X-Com: UFO Defense as the same title and lumped their scores together.

(Anyone who just writes "XCom" in this poll should either be forced to clarify their vote or forced to make out with a Chryssalid in the closet.)

But if Gollop have had his way, we would have been playing laser squad 2 and the best video game ever created wouldn't exist ...

Somebody should probably double check if I missed to combine some of the lesser known titles (especially among those starting with "The").

Also, those who wanted to categorize the games according to genre can now do this as well.
