wait what how can some shit korean company like this afford to buy control of a company like ea

either way ea can't decline any further so this is potentially incline

You see bro, there are many ways in which they can. Outside of the fact that they are not so small (but wiki didn't list their total equity and I'm too lazy to search gook stock exchanges for data so hell if I know how big they are).

They can for example "pay with their own stocks", AOL did that just before the dotcom bubble when taking over time warner. If their stocks are overpriced due to speculation it could work to great effect.

They could also just do a leveraged buyout (in nonzionistbankerconspirator it means get a loan), assuming whoever will be willing to finance them gets some decent collateral. Or thinks that EA itself is decent collateral :troll:

You also have to remember they just need to control 50%+1 stock of EA to take them over.

Although EA at the moment is worth 5,2 billion, so they still need a ton of cash. At least 2,6 billion PLUS premium, the market won't just sell them that stock for the current price. However EA can't do jack if its managment doesn't want the buyout to happen.

http://www.nasdaq.com/symbol/ea/ownership-summary

Their ownership is fractured like hell. I can't find how much of their stock is in free float but my guess is there is enough of it to take them over regardless of what their CEO may want. Especially with investors seeing EA stocks in free fall, I doubt there are many of them investing longterm into EA. With Nexon saying it wants EA many will view this as an excellent opportunity to cut their losses.

Especially if they are smart, after all most mergers and acquisitions destroy shareholder value rather than create it. Shit is most likely to go wrong after the buyout, so better to get as much cash as possible out of EA now and jump off the train wreck in the making. Especially when we have Korean and American corporate cultures clashing. Yes their business models of p2p decline are similar, but their management styles are not.

At least EA will get a taste of its own medicine by getting sodomized by their new Korean overlords. :troll:

Note: this post is like my opinion man, and should not be viewed as investment advice.
