There are <a href="http://www.sacred2.com/en/das-spiel/charaktere.html">some character profiles on the official site for the upcoming Sacred 2</a>, Saint's favouritest Diablo-clone ever. Learn about High Elves, Shadow Warriors and Seraphim's by clicking on the little circle images on each:
    <br>
<blockquote>The Shadow Warrior used to be a Human elite guard and he fought bravely for his sovereign during the numerous battles of the High Elven empire. His strength in battle made him a living nightmare dreaded by his enemies. Thus, he was his warlord's ultimate weapon. His strength, discipline and obedience were second to none.</blockquote>

    Sounds fun.

It's kind of interesting that the Seraphim is the only class returning. When I was playing Sacred online, most of the characters seemed to be other classes as opposed to the Seraphim. Then again, the Seraphim was one of the hardest classes to build and play since they required a lot of micromanagement to play. Then again, I liked playing the Seraphim because it was such an involved class.

I kind of wish they would have left some of the other classes in and added the new ones on top of the old. The Dwarf comes to mind as one of the cooler, fun classes to play. It's a lot of fun getting a bunch of speed related items on the dwarf and then building him up to use the cannon attacks as his primary mode of attacking.

I'm still a little miffed about the lack of random quests in the game. Meh.

I really liked to play the Vampiress, too bad she isn't in again.

I cringe everytime I read that site. It's like the writer is 14 years old.

T-energy? Sounds like something L. Ron Hubbard would concoct.

Yea, well, Sacred was pretty boring anyway.

    I agree.
This game is like, NOTHING, compared to Diablo 3.

Too bad. I really liked playing a Dwarf with a flamethrower.

The hell is up with the High Elf "dresses". Looks like the character is ready for an 80s electronic rave than battle in a fantasy world.

    Ninja Edit:

    Some quality writing there:
"These immortal beings usually have very fair skin. The Seraphim impresses the beholder with her elegant and immaculate appearance.
Austere eyes without pupils, which express her strength of character and decisiveness, can penetrate the darkness. Her golden hair falls onto her shoulders and frames her fine features."

Does the (evil) Shadow Warrior ("Who wants some Wang?") remind anybody else of Sauron's tubby, little, short-armed retard brother?

    Anyway, I like this:
"Yet his High Elf General had different plans for him! He wanted to see him return to the battle field. Therefore, he decided to bring back the warrior's soul from the realm of the dead binding it to his lifeless body.
Elven High Priests performed an ancient ritual in order to raise him from the dead and attempted to combine it with T-Energy. Alas, the warrior's will was unrelenting and he defied the priests. The ritual failed! The Human elite fighter became the Shadow Warrior - an undead being with a sharp mind. Raging that he had been torn from paradise he killed all those present at the ceremony and escaped."
Now that is something I can identify with. Just needs some more quality in the writing section.

I'm not sure what T-Energy is, but if you read some of the books you find along the way in Sacred, it talks about how the world was basically constructed in a Sci-Fi type fashion. The Seraphim also have several types of armor which are pretty sci-fi related.

Are those three the only available characters? Or are there others, the page tells us to come back soon to find more of them, but maybe that text has been there a long time?

mathboy: There's some preview video of Sacred 2 on gametrailers where you can see that the game will feature six characters. They stand next to each other in the end sequence and camera loops around them.

Really? I thought there were a *TON* of quests, period? I still have the original and the expansion sitting on my computer desk. I hopped onto one of the servers about a year ago just for fun - I was the only person playing the game....

I dusted Sacred off about a year ago and played it online. There were a bunch of people playing it then.

There are a ton of quests, but before Sacred 1.8/Sacred Plus, most of the side quests were randomly generated. They just added a ton more side quests and ganked out the random ones with Sacred Plus.

The random quests were nice because they'd point you to landmarks you might not have noticed otherwise. They'd be like "Kill <boss>. He's near <landmark>" or "<boss> stole our <generic>. Please kill it and bring it back. He was last seen at <landmark>." and put a compass arrow on the map for you.

Sometimes they were also absolutely hilarious thanks to that system. I remember getting a quest like this once:

"Can you help me? There's a nobleman roaming the lands! Also, the beast robbed me blind! He was last seen near the old graveyard, you have time until the next day or all is lost!"

Those roaming noblemen'll get ya. Too bad I never got to experience the randomly generated quests in Sacred, I hopped straight on the gold version.

Any chance all these quests are not generic-fetch quests? From the brief time I played sacred it seemed just like playing WoW offline.

Well, at least Sacred didn't do the "Collect 12 Imp Heads" where you have to kill 300 imps just to have 12 heads drop. But yeah, the random quests in Sacred were pretty generic. Even the scripted ones are pretty generic. Then again, we're talking about an action CRPG.

Hack & Slash with Mr. T as playable character would be totally awesome.

Sacred is the daring tale of one seraphim's goal to create the most expansive and trustable courier service in all the lands.
