is the game worth playing? does it have a final boss? does it have bosses?

  4. If you played and liked Bioshock then yes, if you never played Bioshock then I'd say yes, if you played and didn't like Bioshock then no.

It doesn't really have a final boss, it just has a rough final battle.

    It does have bosses.

 why do developers hate final bosses... those battles are the ones that stay in history books.

Edit: fuckers trying to be edgy... "bosses are to videogamey"

If you had played Bioshock you wouldn't think it's a bad thing not to have a final boss.

  7. Kinda what Tuluse said. The final boss of Bioshock was pretty much shit (And honestly Bioshock 1's ending was largely a letdown (The in-game ending that is, I thought the good side cutscene ending was alright)) and even the bosses in Infinite aren't all that great. The big final battle in Infinite's kind of a more satisfying fight since you've got a variety of enemies to fight and use powers on. So you even have basic minions to use plasmids on instead of the boss just being immune to your floating enemies in the air attacks and shit.

Boss battles definitely can be good but Irrational hasn't really shown they're good at them.

I didn't like bioshock 1 and I liked Infinite. The weapons feel so much better, I couldn't stand them in the original.

You have to agree, bosses kind of don't fit a cinematic experience. You usually lose once or twice to bosses, the immersion and emotional connection are severely hurt when that happens...

go watch a movie if you want immersion. I remember dying more than 4 times with the master in fallout 1 and that didnt ruin the "immersion".

I _hate_ final bosses. Seriously. It's like making it to the last chapter of a book and not being able to read it beause suddenly everything is written in a fucking weird language hard to access. I can't count the number of jRPGs where I made it to the final boss, and watched the rest on youtube.

The final boss always should be a challenge, even on normal difficulty. That's what I like about arcade shooters or Chrono Trigger. The japanese school of development surely have a big boss section. Resident Evil 3 with Nemezis is probably my favourite, great idea and execution. On the other side is NWN 2 with it's horrible endgame. Ok, you killed one boss, but then it's another. And after that, surprise! I have both expansions, but didn't play it after that. Since MotB is so highly acclaimed on 'dex I'll try.

In Soviet Russia the only way to play FFVII was to fire it up in an 8bit Russian NES knockoff. Thankfully it has been translated for our enjoyment :

Valkyrie Profile. The original on PS1 is very expensive (I got my copy for $150) but there's a PSP rerelease that's far cheaper.
