Ah, sounds like a real decline after the excellent Calendra's Cistern.

It's definitely not as good as Calendra's Cistern. Still, the last mission is awesome and the first features a very cool crypt area.
If you go and get Kharras Drahg asap in Midnight in Murkbell you'll have an easier time since it conceals you more and can slay the undead. You can do that as soon as the mission starts, and if you know your way around you'll arrive at the cathedral with plenty of time to drop the Cylix. Now that you have done that and have Kharras Drahg, you're free to explore the district before triggering the undead. I also hated that mission at first but now that I really know it I find it more enjoyable, but it's the weakest of the bunch by far despite its great cityscape.

Codex 2014 Make the Codex Great Again! Grab the Codex by the pussy
I recently found a list of "things to do" in the mission, among them was dropping a mine down the chute instead of the Cylix (if you could find it).

A lot of time and effort went into the Murkbell mission, and yet it trips over itself on such a simple matter. At least it didn't screw itself over as badly as King's Story, the FM that took 4 years to complete, and whose architecture is based on a real-life castle, but the author decided to take design lessons from modern-day FPS games. (Failing the mission by exploring your surroundings, having a useless in-game map, having the "path" through the level being so much on rails that there's no room for deviation/improvization, etc.)

Flece can sneak behind each of these faggots and one shot them. Fucking awesome.

  8. Actually, I had to resort to backstabbing when I fought Murod.
When that faggot changed the form, he could take out anyone from the party with 3-4 hits (even Imp with Rosalind weren't fast enough to heal everyone), and I had to reload once or twice to kill him without casualties.
Also, there was a hilarious AI bug when Murod targeted Flece and pursued her, ignoring the fact that Jekhar stomped his ass.

    Wasn't necessary in my case.

BTW: Any way to get MS/TNP run in d3d mode?
It looks nice in SW but colored lighting would be a plus.

    Rad shield.

    Really? I never tried that.

    It's certainly spectacular.

It happens nearly every time in mine.

I actually bought original TNP when it was relatively new.

Never really got into MS, due to it forcing stupid perspective (no way to set overhead view to follow your rotation, unlike TNP) and seeming much less complex and diverse.

TNP is pretty fun shooter. Has aged well visually too - straight top-down perspective lets you use sprites without any of the problems usually associated with the use of sprites in games.

Wow, their eyes on higher resolution looks weird, especially Rosalind.
Also- Flece remind me Demi Moore.

Yeah, some skirmish maps are nice, like escorting some famous hooker for our boys. Funny that one was better than escort doctor mission for vanila.

My first contact with 7,62 High Calibre + Blue Sun Mod 2.0 (good riddance with finding working version without Decoder.exe error). Should play vanillia but those fixes were so temting...
Found few pistols, vest, some under-vest and backpack. Still 0 shots.

Played Real Guns Hardcore for pure lulz, but this version don't have .44 Magnum and 1886 T-800's shotgun with akimbo compared to my last try about 2-3 years ago. So shit is even shitter. Welp.

Trying to work backwards through my GoG catalogue. Dredd vs. Death, in which I originally got all the way up to the 9th chapter before quitting in boredom. Feels good to settle unfinished business :smug:

Pros: Judge Dredd, human enemies are reasonably fun to fight with different ammo types, civilians running around and the arrest system. Yelling "Drop 'em, creeps" and bursting the leader's head like a watermelon when they refuse to comply is bretty gud fun. The tone and humour is pretty close (by bad videogame standards) to the sauce material, unlike the shitty reboot film that people who hate fun pretend is good. Levels are large with no loading times, and there are a few hub-like areas.

Cons: Too many factory-esque levels. Shotgun sucks dick. Too many fucking vampries and zombie enemies - second-to-last couple of levels steal all your fucking ammo and make you fight hordes of them. NO FUCKING SPUDGUNS

Conclusion: Should've been an Deus Ex clone.

I remember I was actually a bit freaked out by that part. Those toys on the ground made me think these children were abandoned by parents who actually loved them and left them grow wild in the, well, wild.

Heck, the whole U8 is freaky as hell. I remember in the dungeon where you can find Slayer, there is a room with a hostile, presumably insane city guard living there, and there was a rotten corpse on his bed. The corpses man, the game is littered with them, even in the city there are dead bodies here and there. U8 was a horror game on its own right.

Does anyone else think Avatar from U8 looks a lot like Dirk from Dragon's Lair? Red shirt with gold embroidering. Little brown knapsack strewn to his back. Awkwardly controlled. Dies a lot.

The only real difference is that Dirk has short black hair, while the Avatar is a blondie with shoulder-long hair.

All U8 would have needed was for Lady Mordea to dress up like Daphne, and the comparison would be golden.
