It maybe doesn't warrant immediate and direct sequel but all that worldbuilding that goes into the first game usually makes studios want to revisit it in a couple of years. Of Orcs And Men/Styx and similar games come to mind so I wouldn't say never.

It has technical issue, my main issue is especially crashing if you spam quickload too fast.

Other than that, some clipping, gettin stuck in nooks, or wanky hitboxes.

But i really never experienced nothing major,. No game breaking and quest breaking.

first zone, go to talk to shady merchant...
just as you're leaving some guards start running towards the shop and ur stuck in there waiting for scripted event
only problem is guards reset back to their initial position in script once they touch the merchants door and you get an infinite loop.

    nothing major indeed

after 40 hours, i finished the game. definitely a flawed gem. i did not do all the quest, but like 97% of it. i did not do the fucking socks one. fuck that quest. i believe it's purpose is just to torture OCD poor souls. also the technomagic pod recovery one. other than that, i completed it all. majority of the quests are great, some are excellent, and few feels like fodders.

the best thing about it is absolutely the quests, setting and atmosphere in general. while the plot itself is nothing special, like thousands of fantasy story have similar plot, but the setting, and teriel/artanak dynamics are great and made up for the lacking parts. some of the side characters are memorable, ESPECIALLY the wildermages you hunt, thyra and some other, too bad none of them really stay that long in the story. you basically do their quests and they are gone.

combat is a mixed bag. it works, but it is not really exciting. i do appreciate the varieties of weapons with different movesets and special comboes, but in the end i went with that one flaming sword that i use to the end because it's the best.

level design is okay, it is no thief or even something like shadow tactics, but it is still fun especially infiltrating unique setpieces for quests, etc. the overworld though is kinda a pain in the ass to navigate. it's kinda weak in that part, at least until you open up more fast travel panel.

stealth is also just ok. it works, but suffers from dishonored problem, especially when you got the invisibility skill. but it isn't broken, and combined with some cool places.

too bad they probably will never get to make a sequel. just use the same engine, assets, but polish the stealth, combat, and improve the level design and world design, it can be a really damn good game. at least, the ending is satisfying and how some of the quests you do do determine the ending outcomes in simple, but elegant ways.

Gave the enhanced edition a solid try (7 hours) but I sadly have to say that I belong in the camp who wants to like the game but can't because it's just a bad game.

    - No sense of progression: You don't level up in the game and in the 7 hours I played, i did not feel like my character improve in any meaningful way. You find new skills through exploration, but they are worthless in 90% of the gameplay. Similarly there is no point in crafting stuff and finding new schematics. The C&C is minor at best, and overall the experience is very hollow. I was bored to death and kept looking for reasons to continue playing. I didn't find any.
    - Stealth is broken: The AI and its detection system are so simplistic that stealth makes everything a breeze. There is no point in interacting with any of the game's systems when enemies are so easy to fool. They give up on chasing you too quickly for there to be any sense of challenge.
    - Game forces combat on you on a handful of occasions: This is basically the justification for investing in skills and crafting, but the combat is so braindead and piss poor that it hardly works out. Also, forced combat encounters in a thief-inspired stealth game - Yikes.
    - Controls are janky as hell: I frequently ended up performing actions when I intended to do something else entirely. It often ended in my demise. It's hard to explain, but the game manages to simultaneously feel clunky and floaty. Not a good feel at all.
    - Idiotic menu design: It's like the devs couldn't decide whether they want the game to be controlled primarily by KMB or Controller. Well i tried both and neither work all that great. It's full of inconsistencies and design decisions that makes the whole thing just a chore to use. You interact with the menus quite a bit too. I guess this the experience they carried over from CDPR.

I could name a few more issues but there's no point. This is more than enough to give this game a pass. I rate it 3/10 which on my scale makes it a bad game. Don't buy. It's not worth the asking price. The world and lore is unique but the story is too cliche across the board for any of that to matter, so I can't even recommend it to storyfags. Avoid.

Bumping because its off 70% on steam until 18th. How much rpg vs stealth is in there? Stealth games bore me to tears but the setting looks neat.

You can just action it, no need to bother with stealth if you don't want to. In fact, open-world stealth gets tiresome after a while, plus there were some beefy enemies, so I usually resorted to combat instead.
