OtakuMan30 could you answer this:
This will be a difficult project to do. Shadowgate was unforgiving and harsh on the player. It had dead ends and gameovers and I can’t imagine modern audiences tolerating too much of that. That was part of its beauty, yet it will be tempting to change much of the game. Still, I don’t say they cannot do it, and I admire that they are brave enough to take up the challenge.
Will this new project maintain this same difficulty? I didn't see any mention of the difficulty.
Question was from here:

Actually, I CAN answer that!
The punishing difficulty will still be present in SPADES! Instant death will be around every corner, and both new and experienced players are going to die...
...A LOT! I mean just look at how eager the Grim Reaper is to see you again after all these years!
But there is a feature that was present in the NES version that will also be made available in the new one too: a Hint System.
Furthermore, the Hint System has a name too:
"Master Yoricious Del Tramane: Practicioner, Visionary, and Seer"
...but you can call him Yorick for short.
At the start of the adventure, Lord Jair (that's you, the player, by the way) happens across Yorick (or to be more precise, his skull if you didn't see that one coming
) and takes him with him into the Castle Shadowgate. Yorick is able to provide hints to each room, if you want them, and his usefulness can be scaled to suit the player as well. An Easy setting will make him more cooperative and willing to get you through in one piece. Scaling to harder difficulties makes him more cryptic and possibly more stubborn (you'd be cranky too if after being a powerful master of arcane magick and sorcery, all that was left of you was your skull)
The Hint System was mentioned by Dave in an interview with Griffin McElroy over at Polygon.com (new game news website; I believe former Kotaku Editor-In-Chief Brian Crecente is one of the founders):

But wait, you ask, "How do you know what his full name is? Dave just called him Yorick!"
Good catch! The reason I know this is because Yorick is not new to the world of Shadowgate. Yorick has been a character in Shadowgate lore for over a decade now, but this is the first time he has appeared in one of the games. To my knowledge, the first documented appearance of him was on Page 5 of the comic book "Shadowgate Saga: Raven" which was meant to tie in with a new Shadowgate game that was going to be released after Shadowgate 64. Unfortunately, it was shelved when Kemco pulled the plug and funding due to declining sales of the Nintendo 64. The first issue of the comic along with some design art is hosted at the Zojoi website here:

The artwork for the comic and designs are by artist John Watkins-Chow. You can find his webpage along with a gallery of some of his works here:

And now, without further ado... Heeeeeeere's Yorick!
Hope that answers your question
