If that tier included the Hong Kong sourcebook then I'd consider upgrading, however, as far as I can tell it's just $10 extra for additional copies minus the tabletop books so no thanks.

They've got the right idea about not looking dumb, but i will be more impressed once their AI can create cover in tight corridors (like the blackguards barrier spell). These types of spells not existing/being used instead of buffing or disabling spells is a telltale that the AI doesn't have much notion of the future. It's well and good to seek cover, but that is still not planning.

Meanwhile, excuse me while i restart the game in very hard instead of hard.

$10,631 today - back on track. It may still be feeling the bump from the Kickstarter spam email, though.

Interesting that this kickstarter has no limited tiers. I've never understood the reasoning of having a limited number of high tiers. Unless the rewards require a huge amount of extra time, there is no reason to limit the 10k slots i would think.

It could actually use some limited tiers. For example : tier where your char gets mentioned in a book. Soon it will turn into Seattle Yellowpages or a Phone Book, there are just so many names you can add before it turns to shit.

The ley lines effect often wasn't really worth it anyway, especially if they were placed poorly.

0 cooldowns on major ley lines meant you could spam everything. Getting every character hasted is worth a lot of risk.

Gaichu-fag is starting to sound a bit more interesting...

Now if they could come up with totem perks that don't suck ass, the new campaign would be solid :incline:

Is this new stuff abuot double-effect spells in relation to the PnP; like that they didn't have the time to balance for SRR or DF, or something completely new?

You don't have things like Ley Lines (or rather it's very rare), it's a gameplay element implemented for the cRPG game.
Your spells can be affected by the background/location, it's uncommon without being very rare.
Very Nicely done by HBS to bring on Mel Odom, his Shadowrun novels are among the best of the series IMO (with the late Nigel Findley).

I don't think the problem was time for balance, but time for doing the programming to implement it in the first place.

Even the medium line bonus was very good in conjunction with lightning ball or other AP reducing spells; blasting a group of enemies for -2AP each (more if you crit) really trivializes a lot of battles. Major lines were pretty much a free win as far as I was concerned once I had enough AP to run to one and cast some spells, or earth spirits to grant cover. 0 cooldown on a 26 damage spell for 1 AP with 99% accuracy from pretty much any distance? YES PLZ.
Well, it's pretty much the same thing. If you don't have time to implement it early on, there's no way in hell it'll be shippable in time and you'll need to cut out the bug ridden spells anyways. Any first attempt at programming something is going to be the equivalent of a sketch, extra time to smooth things out is part of the equation.

I guess my game was/is bugged because I never experienced such things. Even a major leyline never reduced spell cooldowns to 0.

Major only reduced cooldowns by 1 for me (In addition to the crazy damage and accuracy bonuses, which even affect AoE spells unlike Aim buff), but for spells that normally have 1 cooldown, that's a major game changer.
