I actually went to Sawyer's Twitter but figured he had deleted it. Usually if someone puts a Twitter pic up and it doesn't look like an obvious fake, I'll take it at face value, because of how often things get deleted on Twitter.

Don't know why people keep saying this. Avellone knows exactly what the Codex is like, and the Roxor review was put up on the front page ages ago. Avellone would have seen it around the time it was first put up. Since making this Facebook post he has interacted with Crooked Bee a lot on Twitter, so this isn't about the Codex. It is obviously about another cancellation, be it a AAA project or the Kickstarter that never was.

 

I enjoyed WL2 much more than any Bethesda game (Morrowind, Arena, and a few hours on Oblivion and Daggerfall).
But most of all, the recent Bethesda games have a bad gameplay, I don't get why a good writer would change that.

 

Or about Fallout 4. Or the Grexit. Or his player character in Arcanum. We don't know anything until he releases an actual explanation.

I think we can safely rule out the Darth Roxor review as the reason Chris Avellone left Obsidian.

Hmmm... he going to Bethesda is a joke, Fallout 4 is just a year away from release and all assets must be ready at this point and Bethesda isn't seeking creative people, if they were, their games wouldn't be the shit they are. Bioware is unlikely, he would have even less freedom he had on Obsidian, maybe Bioware isn't one step away from bankrupcy but EA is a developer serial killer never to be trusted. He could do like alot of developers do, join some small indie to make a project then leave and do another project... but Avellone isn't exactly young and that is an uncertain thing and he could do that already when he was at Obsidian as he did with FTL. Join Larian? MCA moving to Canada or worse Belgium? Nah... or he wants to make his own studio, what is unlikely as if he wanted that he wouldn't join Obsidian 12 years ago... hmmm... what other company just happen to be on California as well?

Seriously, though... William & Mary is not that small of a school. Howard could have just been in the same graduating class or attended the school at the same time. Do we know they're actually buddies?
