Yay, my first Thresh win. I was the second jungle so I just stole eve's wraiths and red at the start, then proceeded to do nothing useful 'cept push with Runaans the whole game. I took jungle masteries and stuff because it seemed we're gonna have double mid but khazix changed at the last seconds. The game before that we had Viktor top against Garen and Ryze mid who took revive teleport because nobody wants to play any other position than mid.

I wonder how long this random AD champs at mid is going to go on. Maybe I'll try Garen mid and see what happens.

So I was just casually strolling around and watching high ranked spectator games when I stumbled on this Thresh + Draven combo against Ezreal + Soraka. Oh god, OH MY GOD. Naturally the game was already underway but it's the most dominant lane I've ever seen at that high elo. I saw glimpses of Blitzclank in Thresh, his lantern is ridiculously OP. Draven would get in lane and Thresh would use the river bush to get just behind their line. Draven then starts a harass, they run away, Thresh comes from behind, lanterns, Draven gets a second hit, Thresh uses E, they flash, Thresh uses Q, Draven gets third hit, dead. 20 seconds in lane and one of them is already dead. Then use your own imagination for how they tower dived the other one.

Draven was around 9-0-3 at the 15 min mark, the lane was basically Draven farming between towers, Ezreal getting all his cs destroyed at tower and Thresh staying back with a lantern in case of jungler ganks. Draven had like a 70 cs lead on Ezreal in laning phase, 5 levels ahead, I've never seen such domination at those high elos. The jungler was powerless, he would just die along with everyone else.

Yeah, I see Thresh getting nerfed.

She's well designed and quite fun to play but she relies a lot on her carry playing decently . Otherwise she has troubles using her skills to max potential. For example, if she's is forced to use her heal on a champ that is standing cowardly in the back, she heals just 65-185 hp for 70-135 mana which isn't an efficient use of mana at all. Similarly, it's easy to waste your attack damage buff because you can't really can't really force your carry to poke and many players won't even notice they got buffed by you. Compare that to Janna's attack buff which, even if your carry won't use effectively, at least is combined with shield so you're guaranteed to get something out of it if you time it properly.

So I wouldn't really recommend her if you plan you don't know any decent carry to duoqueue with.

My guess is that she will eventually get some buffs on mana costs or cooldowns and/or the profession teams will figure how to maximise her potential and claim her OP. But even if that will make her significantly more popular, most Namis won't do well in solo queue.

Thresh seems like the support champion with the most potential to make plays, his lantern is like no other spell in the game and his all abilities are versatile. Maybe I should duo Q whith some of the people I have grouped in "good ADC's" because all of those people were aggressive as fuck and played powerful champions. It's a waste of time to support some wimps and it's frustrating to tell people constantly just to SHOOT THEM.

But these people... "Why focus support" yeah their carry would have had no chance in hell to save the support or even fight us if you had done something else than run at the carry wasting time. Am I wrong? Their squishy ass support is out of position, let's kill her? Why doesn't it ever happen how I plan it to?

Anyway, Thresh, I don't know if he needs nerfs but he's not one of those champions I'd get fucking soraka against, Thresh can both deal high damage harass and pull off kill moves, IMO against that you need someone like Taric or Lulu.

I hate to say this - and I'm not much better myself as a player - but if you can't carry the game when you're 5/0 in in five minutes, no matter how terribly your Akali feeds, then you'll be stuck in 1100 forever.

Also I think Nami is amazing and will be considered OP once people get a little better with her. Sometimes it takes some time. But huge CC champs are almost always ridiculous, especially when played well. Personally I rarely lose as Nami in Normal games, but would still recommend other supports instead that do not rely so much on your team not being asleep.

Well-placed waves and bubbles are wonderful- as is her E- if your team does anything with it. Same with her W.

1300-1400 isn't any better. I have 8/8 ranked wins as Karthus but still every time I pick him people go OMG NOT KARTHUS HE'S USELESS YOU'RE GONNA GET COUNTERED, also sometimes they even dodge my shitty Karthus, ALSO junglers like Lee Sin won't give me blue because CDR on my ult isn't going to help the team or something. But I don't care because I know Karthus can carry pretty heavy teams, unlike this AP Yi crap or whatever these morons consider to be better than the best AP carry in the game.

Since I mostly jungle the thing that irks me the most is how people completely lose their lanes, cry for ganks but don't have any understanding of how a gank is executed. Say, you want to lane gank but the laners won't just kill off the minions giving vision. You're coming from behind but they're too scared to keep withing combat distance of their opponent so you realise you'll be dueling the laner/s so you have to back off ("GOOD GANK SHIT JUNGLER"). They have a stun they can use to start the fight, but they just make you wait in the bush for no reason. The enemy have a big fricking bunch of minions so that's your laner's que to hop straight in and take 400 damage from minions. The enemy is someone like Jax and has an opportunity to maybe kill your laner, so you wait and see if he's going to initiate a fight, instead your laner often runs away (actually it's common they recall when you come to wait for an opportunity to fight so you just wasted your time) or suddenly jumps in so you're too far away from the fight. And most often the laners keep dying so often and fast you can't gank their lanes, all your fault of course.

One of my favourite things to do is to run in their jungle from my lane and kill their jungler, because the chances of the laners actually helping the jungler out are abysmal, never mind the jungle being warded. How do you avoid getting ganked as top? Simple, fuck over their jungler. Mid too if they get uppity. I feel like none of this should actually work, but that's what happens at this level of elo hell.

Yeah, well as somebody who pretty much goes for the jungle as his bread and butter, I can tell you just how bloody right you are. It's amazing the kind of shit people pull.

Case in point: My latest defeat: 7 kills as Shaco by the 10 minute mark, but worry not! Our Renekton has been giving Cho 10 kills by then thus voiding any sort of snowballing I've amassed. Oh, and Renekton was level 5 at that point.

I have full trust in my carries that Im supporting. ye right
Banning Ez from my team gives me a bit better chance to win but you can never be sure.

I got like 8k IP so I'll get Nami tonight and try to troll some normals. I saw in champ spotlight video that Phreak played her solo mid too so there should be some room for AP-ish support build.

Oh, I also feel that I should mention that I've been taught a great many things whilst doing this ranked stuff and I feel that it was worth doing despite having to put up with players such as TOVARISCH99))), who instalocks AD Garen but picks the wrong runes, instead going support Garen top. :M

In other elo related news, I've reached 1300, aw yeah. No elo hell for me. I'm hoping this weekend with the double IP I'll do a marathon and see if I can reach 1400. I don't know, I'm enjoying bot lane so much more than the jungle. You don't get counter jungled and then harassed in all chat, you don't have awkward ganks, you don't scrounge for a philo stone, 2 potions and a ward and you don't have to think of how you'll snowball a laner that's 50 cs behind. Oh sure you get terrible supports but meh. I've played bot lane long enough to know what the safe picks are when your team is retarded (Draven, Caitlyn) and you just take it from there.

My advice for supports is to focus more on countering their bot lane or having a great synergy with your laner than playing the same champion every single time. For example 2 games ago I got forced to go support when the 5th pick insisted he was the best Miss Fortune adc ever. Ok fine. So far I see that their jungler is Nocturne and they have Ezreal. I figure bot lane will try to poke MF hard but that Nocturne especially is super scary in his ganks. I could've picked Taric or whatever else I was feeling like at the moment but I picked safe Alistar. Although MF was kinda bad (biscuit mastery ftw, early feed) I made sure she never got ganked successfully by Nocturne. Ezreal ended up being paired with Jarvan for a pretty scary kill lane, but nothing came out of it. Eventually we started zoning them and MF outfarmed Ezreal, we got a few tower dive kills and I outscaled Jarvan who was not too much of an expert at bot lane. He had the tendency to buy too many pinks that I would bait with my sightstone. There, my job was done, we did better than their bot lane, free elo incoming.

Jungle Kha'zix is still hilarious. Why farm the jungle when you can just murder everything instead?

Better counterjungle yourself because you know these morons won't help the jungler even to not lose half his life in his first buff nevermind actually coming to aid him when you're killing him in the jungle.

Simple, go take the rest of their CS so you snowball yourself. But seriously, don't even bother with losers, your time is valuable and it's best to use it to help those who still can get ahead, unless it's one of those games where everyone is losing. Then you just take 4 reports.

Well... Good luck with that, have fun being zoned from any CS because your support is Soraka or Zilean.

Mostly because you get to duel laners who are 2 levels higher. But yeah, Khafix is pretty funny, leap in, kill, leap out.

If you are dueling on fair terms with Kha, you are doing it wrong. Spot someone a bit low in lane, jump in, kill him. Get out. Repeat ad nauseam.

Of course I will whenever my laners deal any damage at all.

1500 elo, I'm getting there. Today was the second time I played Xerath against Khazix... Pretty funny how every time I almost kill him our Nocturne just happens to be nearby, then they lane switch the Vladimir against me, of course he just dies when he gets overly aggressive. Xerath's burst is pretty hilarious actually, he doesn't do much after it for awhile but any low health targets are almost certainly dead. Heck I could 100-0 Jax and I don't even build DFG.

I'm finding Vi to be a pretty decent jungler, she clears fast and she doesn't need that spirit crap at any point, her ganks are kinda wonky but with the ultimate somebody is pretty likely to die. The armor reduction / health% damage combination seems almost too good.

    Thresh is OP btw.

First of all, don't play AP Yi. With him, you need to snowball early and constantly pressure other lanes - which requires some knowledge about the match-up. Leave that kind of champs for when you have more experience under your belt. For now, I'd recommend Ryze for you mid lane. He's easy to play and very tanky (i.e. you can make mistakes and still survive), just make sure to play him with smartcasts.

Secondly, lots of players have years of experience, but they are still playing at low skill level. Some people just play to have fun, so if you start consciously working to get better you will quickly surpass them. Hell, even learning some of the basics tricks, like how to last hit and ward properly will instantly put you above 50% of the player base. Other things, like learning the abilities of every champion will take time, so you'll need to be a little patient in that regard.

Last but not least, download and use http://www.leaguereplays.com/download/ . Calmly watching and analyzing your own mistakes will help you greatly in the long run.

You can't expect to be winning against lvl 30 people after 5 days of playing. They might even be the tardest of tards, but they at least have some basic knowledge of the metagame - build orders, champ mechanics and counterplay, etc - that you currently lack. Take it slow, observe the game, learn the ropes for the champions, suck it up if you get facerolled and take lessons out of it.

Oh and don't play ap yi

I played the game for 5 months, first MOBA, and got to a pretty good level, it's not that hard. Playing against level 30 when you're not really sucks though. The good news is that if you lose, the matchmaking will pair you up with people your own level so you'll always have an opportunity to build on successes. 31 games is also tiny. Play the free to play champions each week to learn what they all do, to learn your favourite position and go from there.
