PD/SS has crit chance, for which you have no use in this build. Zephyr gives you the biggest MS bonus, some AD and as an icing on the cake - little CD reduction. And IMHO it's good to have tenacity even on squishies.
Of course, if you'd get cc'ed in the open, in front of your tank line then you're gonna die no matter what. But in 1v1 situations (i.e. when some bruiser dives for you in teamfight) 35% shorter cc duration can make the difference between life and death.

 

Fair point. I don't play Kog at all, but he seems like an interesting solution to the HP bloat. Though new BotRK might solve that.

Well... That is a rough lane, you probably just was a bit too careless and underestimated the damage and lane control that combo could put out. Or you were unlucky and got stuck with a support Gankplank.

Yeah and if you end up with riven as your lane opponent and you happen to get ganked without that flash, well that could be bad.

What is the point of these tank Garens people build, win the lane with simply staying in it forever? You deal no damage whatsoever, why wouldn't you just play tank Darius instead?

Yo I have had trouble with Jarman jungle, I can't find a good balance to build items for him to clear the jungle with any efficiency to being tanky. Seems Nautilus does the same thing much better.

Hm. Nu-Taric jungle? What will be his passive damage, we'll see, still, free tankiness, aoe skills, ranged point-and-click stun.

 

I always build garen hyper-agressive, some tanky and MAD DEEPS. Earned me many commendations from fellow hyper-agressive garen bros.

Also you have to be bloody retarded not to get brutalizer on garen, especially in season 3. Yet retards cannot into buying brutalizer. Then again I won a game as jungle twisted fate so I guess I can blame that on low normal elo

 

Best build for Garen is buying Brutalizer early, then start working on Warmog. If you roflstomp your lane finish Black Cleaver, if not - rush Warmog and then finish BC. After that build whatever you feel like, your build is complete with those 2 items and boots 2 (or Boots 3 for MAXIMUM SPEED).

 

See I don't like Warmogs or Sunfire on him... Why not mullet or randuins? Seems like randuins would be smart on him, huge bit of armor, some mild initiation powers and anti-kite properties. I'm also not so sure about Black Cleaver compared to Last Whisper and Infinity Edge. With BC your combo basically works so that your Q/E doesn't even apply max stacks of shred, so it seems to me it's better to just have that LW penetration working for you the entire combo.

Compared to Darius your cooldowns are pretty high and itemizing for CDR tank is awkward since Frozen Heart doesn't make sense on you, and besides I tested CDR Garen and found the damage output completely lacking. So it seems to me you should be looking to max damage on your single combo so you can assassinate someone with ignite QER, or maybe even build an attack speed item later on (I used to build PD or Ghostblade last season). Whenever I have had one of these tank Garens in a game, when I look at damages dealt often they have done much less than something like my jungle Nautilus, and considering Garen's CC, that's just being carried by the team while being dead weight, killstealing with the ultimate. Tank Darius though? Huge ass damages. The same goes for damage Garen, massive damage. Sunfire on Garen? What the fuck? Is this some I DIDN'T FEED NOT MY FAULT WE LOST mindset?

 

Personally, I welcome damage Garens when playing Nidalee top. If Garen tries to build the deeps, I can just go full tank as Nidalee and then a Nidalee combo is much more scary. Garen is much more mobile than Darius is so he's better at staying in lane forever and being an ass in the midgame, if he can't stay in lane anymore, I win with Nidalee and push like only she can.

 

Yeah probably, because any Garen would be a dumb pick vs. ranged bullshit.

 

I had the feeling many lanes for Garen are actually skill matchups. His silence + speed boost are good gap closers and allow him to trade well, his passive is op.

Why am I suddenly doing well with ADC. Now I have 4-1 with Graves and my last Draven game went pretty K. I mean I don't know dick about ADC my idea of kiting is using Quickdraw to move away and then stand some more shooting.

 

It's because the guy who is supporting you is awesome at zoning your opponents so you can farm in peace, setting up trades you can win and warding the map. Meanwhile, your jungler is busting his ass counterjungling and suppressing the enemy jungler so he can't effectively keep up in levels and gank your lane proper. Mid is also doing an admirable job roaming/keeping theirs from roaming bot. Don't worry, as the guy who collects the kill gold from their hard work, you'll get all the credit for their efforts.

They call them carries because their team has to carry them.

 

Haha. Well if mid and jungle are 4-manning my lane, the support is drooling and trying to get me killed with him and top has fed someone like Jax who can't even be ran away from much less kited how well I last shot doesn't exactly factor into the match

So the question is what magical circumstance is letting me play ADC with sorta decent people?

First Lux game in my Demacian month. Feed 1-3 vs. Chogath, don't know what I'm doing since I have never tried this champion (ofc. now I try her in ranked), fail every steal 'cept one blu steal because Cho actually died to that, still, +10 k more damage dealt to champions than Draven and roughly twice more than anyone else. What this crazy bitch is both annoying as fuck and strong? Shield whole team for a fuckton, spam cunt snares, check areas with slow & aoe damage and it stays there for a good while too. And my farm sucked (160, almost 3k poorer than our jungler who decided he's more worthy of my farm than me) because absolutely everyone wanted to steal it.

Of course our team had both Steel Legion Garen and Lux. DEMACIAAAA
